I love my router and it's the best investment I've made since my Linksys WRT-1900AC v1 router I got almost 9 years ago. That router is still in use on my work system segment of my network. The LED status indicators are on top not in front, and In my opinion, again since this is up high on a bookshelf in the center of my home... well, they cannot be viewed at all unless you are on a ladder and use your phone to take a picture?

It’s what we generally expect from a Wi-Fi broadcaster.Unlike its more expensive sibling, the GT-AXE16000, this is not a Wi-Fi 6E router, so it does not operate on the 6GHz spectrum. However, it does support UNII 4 technology, which allows it to operate at the upper end of the 5GHz band (5.9GHz), potentially avoiding interference from other devices. The software elements of the router open up even more optimizations, and it starts with gaming. Avid gamers can register their favorite games with the router for boosted performance. These include League of Legends, Hearthstone and World of Tanks but more should be added in the coming months. Avoid using Auto-Update for firmware: You should update the firmware when you see fit instead of letting the hardware update itself.

But, one of my goals is to also “future proof”. While I do not totally understand the implications of the roll out of WiFi 7, my house is fully wired, and only a few phones, tablets and IoT devices connect wirelessly. My primary focus is on a wired multi-gigabit network. A Wi-Fi connection between two direct parties occurs in a single band, using one fixed channel, at any given time. This principle applies to all existing Wi-Fi standards, up to Wi-Fi 6E.
