About this deal

Beth, a new mother, suspects her husband is cheating on her while she’s home caring for their newborn. Angry and betrayed, she aims to catch him in the act and make him pay for shattering the illusion of their perfect life. But before she realises what she’s doing, she’s tossing the body of her husband’s mistress into the East River.

In fact, reading this book is what kept me sane during Hurricane Irma. I spent days shuttered up in my home without power, the heat was unbearable and the darkness constant. But when a shady character from Kate’s past turns up and starts to systematically and violently rip everything apart, she is forced to make a choice. The Lies She Told is a highly Compelling story about relationships, infatuation, a web of deceit and lies, jealousy and revenge.Alongside the main case, we also meet mother and daughter Mae and Blanche Lethbridge who are friends with Kate. The two stories ran side by side and you get the hint from the beginning that they are connected in some way, but how? The latest installment of the Carly Moore series is just as good as the rest of them! I just don't know how DGS does it. This book takes place just a week after Carly's friend Jerry was killed. While working one night she's approached by a woman she doesn't know and who wants to cause trouble. But this woman leaves her with more questions than answers. In her search to figure out how much truth this woman is telling her she comes across a whole myriad of other problems and some answers (including some related to her past.)

I was really impressed with this book. The author kindly sent me a copy herself and I'm so glad she did as I would definitely read more of her work in the future. Karly has been waiting years to finally have the man of her dreams to herself, and when his wife is away on a girls' holiday, Karly takes her opportunity to get the wife out of the picture. But little does Karly know, things may not all be as they seem and someone is bound to pay a price. The narrative is in third person and normally not my preferred narration but it worked so well for this book. Esp when it came to side characters like the local gossip the narration added a bit of humour. The one downfall is we jump from person to person and sometimes it feels like we have missed something major, however it all gets tied together at the end. This was a well-written crime thriller, with well-developed characters and gripping plot. Even though I guessed the culprit, half way through the novel, it did not take away my enjoyment of the novel. I can only hope that this is the start of a new series, so I can touch base with the characters again. Highly recommended!LIES SHE TOLD receives a 5 star rating on the old Twister Richter Scale. A book within a book that is completely believable, twisty and mind-bending. I would highly recommend this for fans of thrillers, it was a very fast paced book and gripped me from the get go, full of twists. Firstly, thank you so much Paula for this ebook in exchange for an honest review on your debut novel.
