About this deal

I still have those bags, but the Domke proved too large. The camera and lenses swim around in the bag, and it is just too big now. So despite all of that, I wanted a smaller bag which better reflected the smaller size of my tools. The Search Used Optics Used Binoculars Used Scopes Used Accessories Used Accessories for Canon EOS Cameras Used Accessories for Nikon Cameras Used Accessories for Fujifilm Cameras Used Accessories for Micro 4/3 Cameras Used Accessories for Sony Alpha Cameras Used Camera Bags, Cases and Straps More Used Equipment I have had a canvas one for at least 2 years and despite being used very often it is wearing well and nothing has broken or come unstitched. I have reproofed the canvas once and it shows gentle signs of weathering, which can either add character or look like the newness has worn off, whichever way you tend to see such things. The New York-based camera bag company is on a mission to provide high-quality camera bags that protect a photographer’s gear while complementing their personal style. I’d heard a lot about ONA through the travel blogging/social media grapevine, and everyone seemed to be head-over-heels for their products. ONA’s bags are water resistant, but if you want something that’s water proof, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Billingham’s FibreNyte material is totally waterproof, and while Billingham have done their best to ensure their FibreNyte isn’t instantly recognizable as artificial, it doesn’t have as natural or pleasing a look as real canvas or leather. That last bit segues nicely into the next section. Styling

Can the right bag change the equation? What if your camera bag wasn't a bulky thing with a ton of zippers and Velcro and compartments, and was instead something you wouldn't mind bringing to happy hour?Body Versus X-T2 vs. X-Pro2 X-T2 vs. X-T1 X-Pro2 vs. X-T1 X-Pro2 vs. X-Pro1 X-T10 vs. X-T1 vs. X-E2(S) X-T1 vs. X-E2 vs. X-Pro1 X100T vs. X100S vs. X100 X-E2 vs. X-E1 X30 vs. X20 Interchangeable Lens Body Spec Comparison Fixed Lens Body Spec Comparison The clasp. A classy, dark-hued Italian leather handbag that keeps my camera covered? It’s more than an improvement on those fashion-disaster numbers from my pre-teen days! Yes, the Bowery is a beautiful, cool-yet-casual leather satchel, but it’s also practical. The interior is sturdy and well-padded with closed-cell foam, offering plenty of protection for my camera and its additional lens, not to mention my usual bits and pieces, like my phone, Kindle, and emergency chocolate.

With the move to Fujifilm, however, I sold off all of my other camera gear, and thus needed a bag to at least have a central repository for my new gear at my home. This became blatantly apparent when I carried all the lenses and accessories piece meal to the hospital for my daughter’s birth. Previously Because off its compact size, full-frame sensor offering, and interchangeable lens system, Sony’s A7 mirrorless camera lineup has become extremely popular. The A7 is meant to be the lineup’s all-around camera, and the A7 III is its third generation. For years the Sony A7 III has been the go-to camera for photographers and videographers looking to take a step up in their abilities, as the camera offers professional specs and hardware at a price accessible even to the likes of budding film students. And while the A7 III has been on the market for quite some time now, it spent years competing amongst the best mirrorless cameras and has specs that hold up well even by today’s standards. With a flat bottom panel the bag standsup straight on its own. A couple of long straps give it its tote classification. The Bowery is made with soft, supple Italian leather that’s easily marked, but in this case that’s a positive, not a negative. When I discovered a Nikon J4 camera under the tree at Christmas (my first camera with multiple lenses), I knew I was going to need a camera case, if not a whole new bag. My problem was that most of the camera bags I looked at were, well… ugly. Enter ONA. The leather ONA uses is also remarkably stiff when the bag is new. I hope that as time goes on it will continue to soften, but even now it’s still pretty rigid. My wife disliked this enough to mention it too, unprompted. Opening & Closing For me, a bag of this price can only justify its cost if I'm going to get a lot of use out of it and it solves a problem for me. The ONA Capri did both in the time I spent testing it. In fact, on a few occasions I carried it around without a camera inside it at all. It's lovely as a purse and works marvelously as a bag for a smaller camera system. With a really small system, like the E-M10 or GM5, it goes above and beyond the call of duty. I can even fit my water bottle in and not worry about it mingling with the camera gear. I like to think that each new adventure I embark on will leave its mark, physically as well as emotionally: a scuff from an afternoon exploring New York City, a scratch from sailing to St Kilda. No-one will have a Dark Truffle ONA Bowery bag quite like mine. That’s a classic combo I don’t see as much nowadays. I know a lot of people jumped ship to the XF 35mm f2. Personally, I’m still a fan of the XF 35mm f1.4, and I still stand behind every word I said about it :). As for the X-Pro1, to me, there’s still something about the color of the first gen sensor that I like over the current ones. I miss mine :). In addition to the weather resistant canvas, the ONA Bowery also employs flaps on the sides for further protection against the elements.

ONA Bags

It’s also a great looking bag overall, and it will only get better looking as it ages with use. The Bowery is something that you can use as your daily day bag but at the same time, it will feel equally at home if you decide to go to a fancy restaurant, business meeting or an event. Since it doesn’t have that traditional camera bag appearance, it’s not going to attracted unwanted attention either. Unless you encounter a person that actually knows what an ONA bag is, most will probably think it’s just a small messenger bag. ONA Bowery Camera Bag Specs: It was a mix of window light and a Westcott Ice Light 2. I bought a pair of those Ice Lights, and I’ve been slowing experimenting with them whenever I get a chance. They are pretty cool! The trimming on the bag is subtle, but so well done that sometimes I just admire it. I’m trying not to exaggerate, but it really is well trimmed. The Bowery can hold a lot of kit for such a small bag. The leather version is a good bit heavier than the canvas one and as I said earlier, the purpose of this bag for me is to travel lighter on a day to day basis when I don't have a shoot that requires larger lenses. But I can basically get all of the following into the Bowery. I don't always need this amount of gear, but it's good to have the option. What do you think of the ONA Bowery? Do you have a favourite camera (or travel) bag? I’d love to hear what gear you use when you travel!
