Salaverrie, Fernando (September 2005). Sólo éxitos: año a año, 1959–2002 (PDF) (in Spanish) (1sted.). Madrid: Fundación Autor/SGAE. p.954. ISBN 84-8048-639-2 . Retrieved 27 December 2018. Tónlist – Ísland plötur og diskar". DV (in Icelandic). Vol.88, no.114. 22 May 1998. p.44. ISSN 1021-8254– via Timarit.is. Like any other edition from the Vinyl Factory this is a collectors edition, as it takes the music of the artist to high level of presentation detail. Before listen to the music I was really impressed by the quality and detail of this cover, need to be seen in the flesh. The pressing of the vinyls is top... fantastic deep and fat sound, I can feel a lot of differences from the CD. Heligoland is a world of sensations, something that takes your mind to different trips. If sometimes you can sing along with Robert, Martina, Horace or Hope, other times you just surf between Heaven and Hell, like with Guy, but always moving... always loosing your mind in timeless memories of a lost future. Years after the album was released, it was placed on several best-of lists in the UK and the United States. In 2000, Q magazine placed Mezzanine at number 15 on its list of "The 100 Greatest British Albums Ever". In 2013, it was placed at 215 on NME 's list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". [1] In 2003, the album was ranked number 412 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of " The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", [31] and while it was not included in the 2012 update of the list, it reentered the 2020 update ranked at number 383. [32]

Mezzanine topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, becoming the group's most commercially successful album to date. It ranked highly on many year-end lists. [3] The album spawned four singles, " Risingson", " Teardrop", " Angel" and " Inertia Creeps", which also variously charted in the United Kingdom. Published by Fiction Songs Limited. Don't get me wrong. If Steven Wilson remixes the album in high resolution 5.1 (or better Dolby Atmos), as he has discussed several times, I will buy it again because I'm certain it will be better than the present mix. Matrix / Runout (Side B, etched Variant 10 [No Pre-/Suffixes, 1st press]): BD26581-01 B1 3754225 i...i The album was remastered and reissued for its 20th anniversary. The two-CD anniversary edition was released on 23 August 2019, and comes with a bonus disc of previously unreleased dub mixes by the Mad Professor, which were originally intended to be released on a Mezzanine remix album. A triple-LP vinyl version was also slated to be released; initially delayed from its proposed release date, the triple-LP version was eventually canceled altogether. [36]Mezzanine entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, [26] and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on 4 September 1998 and then double platinum on 22 July 2013. [27] However, it failed to share the same success in North America, peaking at number 60 on the Billboard 200 [28] and number 51 on the Canadian Albums Chart. [29] By April 2000, the album had sold 2.5 million copies worldwide. [33] As of February 2010, it had sold 560,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. John Bush of AllMusic had positive words for the album's song "Inertia Creeps", saying it "could well be the highlight, another feature for just the core threesome. With eerie atmospherics, fuzz-tone guitars, and a wealth of effects, the song could well be the best production from the best team of producers the electronic world had ever seen." [16]

Management [Tour Representation] – David Levy (5), Deluxe (23), ITB, Jeremy Joseph (2), Jonathan Levine (3), MPA (2), Metropolis Music (2), Raye Cosbert So, this will be a bit of an odd review. As for the music itself, I think this is a great album. This album has an odd appeal and a unique sound, perfect for the right mood.a b c "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time: 300–201". I love D, he’s like a brother, but he’s an argumentative bastard, and he’ll run rings around people if they’re not switched on. And Mushroom, he’s a very smart guy, very intelligent, but he doesn’t have the dexterity that D has, so would get increasingly frustrated by D. Mushroom was very much a methodical person – he liked to plan things so he’d know what he was going to do when he got in the studio. He hated going into the studio and not knowing what he was going to do. Whereas D was very much “Let’s get in the studio and make some noise and see what happens…It was a creative mindset that used to frustrate the hell out of Mushroom.” Paradise Circus" is the obvious jewel in the crown: a catchy downtempo beat paired with the bottom of Hope Sandoval's vocal range. It's easy and cool like any Massive classic, an anthem to mellow euphoria, with a transcendent swelling of synthy melody at the end. People, this is how your music should treat you. I will not bother you with more details about the edition, but please pay attention to the third vinyl where you can find the remixes.

On the 20th anniversary of Mezzanine 's release, the record was encoded into synthetic DNA—a first for an album. The project was in collaboration with TurboBeads Labs in Switzerland; the digital audio of the album was stored in the form of genetic information. The audio was then compressed using Opus, coded in DNA molecules—with 920,000 short DNA strands containing all the data—and then poured into 5,000 tiny glass beads. [35] 20th anniversary reissue [ edit ] As to the Mad Professor Mezzanine dub remixes on the second CD, they are truly awful in my opinion. While I think they could have enhanced the great part of this album if done correctly, I think there was a reason the remixes weren't released after they were done for 20 years. It's because they aren't good. B2 Courtesy of Better Half Music Co. (C/o Bourne Music Company) / MCA Music Publishing, a division of Universal Studios, Inc. (ASCAP). By the way... the music... !!! If you love your Smith & Mighty, Portishead, Roni Size, Tom Waits or Neil Young - you'll love it. If you already know the album and consider buying the vinyl- just go ahead!!!
