Johnson made a cameo appearance with rock band Muse on 31 August 2017, performing a rendition of "Back in Black" with the group. In fact, Johnson, 75, treads relatively lightly on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame troupe, chronicling his entry into the band and the making of “Back in Black,” as well as the debilitating hearing issues that took him out of the group temporarily in 2015. I think when he saw Brian at that time, to Bon it was 'Well he's a guy that knows what rock and roll is all about. About the Author: Brian Johnson is the singer in AC/DC, one of the world's biggest rock 'n' roll bands. His first and only solo single, "I Can't Forget You Now", he released also as a member of Geordie in January 1976 on the Red Bus label.

Remembering the world was not long out of the second world war when young Brian was born so like many stories of the day, Brian's childhood was a fairly dismal and depressing one. Johnson's memoirs, entitled The Lives of Brian, was published by HarperCollins and released on Oct 25, 2022.The band auditioned singers, among them Johnson, whom Scott himself had seen perform and raved about. That said his glimpse into who they are and how they operate is refreshing after so many stories of fighting and squabbles over money and other things in bands. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. The band’s eighth studio album, For Those About to Rock We Salute You (1981), was their first album to reach number one in the United States. His English father, Alan, was a coal miner and sergeant major in the British Army's Durham Light Infantry [4] who died in 1996.

Phil Carson, former chief executive of Atlantic Records, supported the project but it was never staged. AC/DC have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 75 million albums in the United States, making them the ninth-highest-selling artist in the United States and the 16th-best-selling artist worldwide. In 2007, Johnson and AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams took part in the Classic Rock Cares tour to raise funds for the John Entwistle Foundation, which is run by Entwistle's long-time friend and drummer Steve Luongo.Thank you to Harper Audio for my complimentary audiobook and to Dey St and Harper Collins for the physical book. Johnson: I would love to do music again, whether it’ll be guesting with somebody, whether it be actually playing live with the boys. Evans was fired from the band in 1977 and replaced by Cliff Williams, who has appeared on every AC/DC album since 1978’s Powerage. Rudd has since recorded five more albums with the band, starting with, and including, Ballbreaker (1995).

Johnson is now turning his attention to the forthcoming release of his memoirs, with The Lives of Brian set to be published on October 26 by Penguin Books Ltd. I've had time on my hands over recent years, following early retirement, that I believe has been put to good use. My wife and I enjoy holidays, theatre and dining out, together I hasten to add; which I guess would keep most people content. AC/DC were a band in crisis following the tragic death of their lead singer, Bon Scott, but with Brian on board they would record their masterpiece: ‘Back in Black’.And then, all of a sudden, the book takes a huge leap straight to 2016, and him losing his hearing and being temporariily dropped by the band, cheerio, over and out.
