My normal serum has a creamier consistency so this took a bit of getting used to. I have combination skin but it does get dehydrated in the winter mainly due to the heating in the office at work. The oil sinks into my skin without leaving any surface oil and has a relaxing soothing scent. I use it in the morning and at night. I found it was excellent around my eye area where other creams make my eyes puffy or sore. The oil definitely has improved the hydration and overall appearance of my skin. The increased moisture has made my skin look fresh and plumper.

The only downside I have experienced is a few breakouts (though I am quite breakout prone) and I now believe this may be down to the cream and not this oil. If you do breakout easily I would skip the cream. Another pro is that lavender oil has some nice antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. It also has some localpain relieving and muscle relaxing magical powers. Lavender oil is also often claimed to have anti-inflammatory properties. We have found a study confirming this but it was the essential oil of the leaves and not the much more commonly used flowers and the two differ in their main chemical compounds very much. (The main components of the flower essential oil are linalyl acetate and linalool [around 80% the two together] while it is 1,8-Cineole [around 65%] in the essential oil of the leaves.)

As Dr. Bibi Ghalaie explains, oils should not be billed as moisturisers, “as they do not sink into the dermis and bind water to skin cells like moisturising creams or ointments do.” Instead, they sit on the skin’s surface (the epidermis) and prevent water from leaking out.” In this way, they can be considered a good sealant (an ‘occlusive’) for the skin, helping to form a protective layer. Where do face oils sit in a routine?

According to Thomas, dry skin types will benefit most from a face oil: “especially skin with flaky dry patches, or a tight, dry sensation,” she says. For the same reasons they are popularly used, they are also commonly avoided. Anecdotally, many individuals have reported that Silicones cause/excerbate breakouts, irritation, cause a feeling of skin being unable to breathe, cause clumping of cosmetic products and find it difficult to wash off. As a result, those who find them problematic are avoiding them and increasingly, cosmetic companies are avoiding them as well. There is also an often cited Japanese study that made patch tests with lavender oil for 9 years and found a huge increase in lavender oil sensitivity in 1997 (from 1.1% in 1990 to 8.7% in 1997 and 13.9% in 1998). This was the year when using dried lavender flowers in pillows, wardrobes, and elsewhere became fashionable in Japan, so it seems that increased exposure to lavenderresults in increased risk of sensitivity. A little of this product goes a long way, as a few drops is all I need, and the generous sized bottle will last me a long while. I would recommend keeping this in a dark place, as the bottle is clear glass.Requests for replacement due to a change of mind, shade preference, or product choice are not encouraged. Among other ingredients, the cream contains rosemary, lavender oil, luxuriant shea butter, royal jelly and jasmine. L'Oréal Skincare: Price UK Here, we call on the experts to divulge the truth on face oils, from how they should be harnessed to the skin types that should be slathering them on. Read on for everything you need to know... What is a face oil, and what do they do? There's still a lot of support for avoiding parabens following the better safe than sorry route. If you do we completely support you! I do not know if it is me, but I cannot find the things that other reviewers see in this product. I will carry on and persevere and see if it does more for me.

Once the return is received and evaluated by our quality assurance department, a replacement/coupon will be issued upon successful assessment of the product's condition. As a result, please note this is only an experimental label that can be best used to possible identify problematic products you have used in the past. It is in no way a perfect identifier nor a predictor in whether or not it will exacerbate or cause fungal acne. It will continue to be worked on as more information and research comes to light. Another super common myth surrounding mineral oil is that it is comedogenic. A 2005 study titled"Is mineral oil comedogenic?" examined this very question and guess what happened? The study concluded that" based on the animal and human data reported, along with the AAD recommendation, it would appear reasonable to conclude that mineral oil is noncomedogenic in humans." Yet the very notion of applying oil to the skin still strikes fear in some – surely, more oil equals more problems? Even if you’re already on board with face oils, mystery surrounding how to use them correctly (bigger still, how they actually work) abounds. Much has been made of the use of essential oils – such as tea tree, lavender and peppermint – due to their tendency to react on especially sensitive skin. Not all face oils contain essential oils, but some brands use them heavily, thanks in no small part to their aromatherapeutic powers. A broad range of day creams is available to choose from, one of which is Nutri Gold Extraordinary Oil Cream, developed by L'Oréal. Day creams are generally lighter than night creams and wear well under make-up. They also exclude ingredients such as AHA and retinol that can cause your skin to be sensitive to sunlight. Instead these products provide moisture while creating a shield to protect your complexion from environmental stressors. Some also include sunscreen. Area of Use

So the bottle design could definitely be improved, but that wasn't my concern! I used 3 tiny droplets. They smelled very natural and divine; like a better version of bio oil, without the greasy weird texture! I rubbed it in my hands a little and applied it to a freshly wiped face. I worried while waiting to see how my skin would respond!I’m just not sure about this product at all. It’s oily and has to be used sparingly. It does make the skin smooth, but then I’m sure olive oil would have the same effect at a fraction of the price! I don’t like the scent. For me it’s too over powering. If it was cheaper I might look at it more favourably. Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Fragrancedirect, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. Third, jojoba oil moisturizes the skin through a unique dual action:on the one hand, it mixes with sebum and forms a thin, non-greasy, semi-occlusive layer; on the other hand, it absorbs into the skin through pores and hair follicles thendiffuses into the intercellular spaces of the outer layer of the skin to make it soft and supple. What’s more, those with nut allergies should never use oils derived from nut trees, and certain citrus oils can cause increased sun sensitivity.
