Fleet Troopers didn’t really leave their mark until much later. They didn’t change substantially, but costed a bit more than Rebel Troopers and had a niche role as close range shotgunners. Their cost came down and it became easier over time to put aim tokens on them so their general strategy of “stand behind a wall and wait” became more reliable. Nowadays they occupy a solid niche, usually filling 1-2 corps slots for guarding objectives. August 2018 – Han Solo and Rebel Commandos Those that aren’t Star Wars nerds will discover deep and thoughtful game with loads of strategy. Something as simple as how many points you build your list with can dictate the flow of the game. Do you kit out your units with upgrades to max out their potential? Do you just build conservatively around two key units and have a larger bid to be the Blue player? Maybe you just spam the board with loads of cheap units and out activate your opponent to get cheap shots in. The strategy is yours to come up with. Is it Possible to Learn this Game? However you decide to assemble your miniature, Luke Skywalker is as skilled as ever on the battlefield. This expansion also contains a unit card with abilities identical to the Hero of the Rebellion version of Luke Skywalker found in the Star Wars: Legion Core Set, but now featuring updated artwork matching his new appearance. Additionally, you’ll also find copies of Luke Skywalker’s command cards My Ally is the Force, Return of the Jedi, and Son of Skywalker featuring this updated artwork alongside the unit card. Finally, to ensure Luke Skywalker is fully prepared for battle, this expansion also contains reprints of four upgrade cards: Emergency Stims, Environmental Gear, Force Push, and Hope.

Warfare is an inescapable part of the Star Wars universe, from the blow dealt to the Rebel Alliance in the Battle of Hoth to a few Rebel strike teams taking on a legion of stormtroopers stationed on Endor. Seize your chance to get your boots on the ground and lead your troops to victory with Star Wars™: Legion, a miniatures game of thrilling infantry battles in the Star Wars universe! C – Viable. Units that can be good in specific builds that are designed to feature them, or units that support other more foundational units reasonably well but don’t stand up on their own. Using the same skills as priming, spray down the model with a gloss or semi-gloss spray. The gloss coat is done before the wash to allow the wash to flow easier. Before moving onto the wash, be sure to let the model dry. For washing the model, put some of the wash either in a water bottle lid or on a palette for easy access. The models must be assembled and glued down to a base before painting. For assembly, the arms slot easily into the torsos, and glue is highly recommended to keep them in place. Unfortunately after this point, COVID-19 began to settle in. Competitive events would stop almost entirely and the meta slowed down – as did releases. June 2020 – Cassian Andor

Step 3: Gloss Spray and Wash

With this we come to the most recent rebel release, Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian. It’s hard to say where he stands right now, there haven’t really been enough events with him to say for certain. He seems solid, particularly at mid to close range, but he’s in a faction with lots of Operatives also competing in that role. It’ll likely be a bit before we know for sure. What’s Next? Vallejo Coarse Pumice is a great texture for your bases. You can also use sand mixed with PVA (Elmer’s white) glue to get the same texture-type effect. Apply onto the base with a flat spreader, then apply a primer once the texture is completely dry.

Specialized Units –The Rebellion has very specialized units which does work both for and against it. Units tend to excel at a specific task, and it’s generally clear to a beginner what a unit is “meant” to do. The flip side is that if the units are caught trying to do things they’re not designed to do, they’ll usually be defeated by things more appropriate for the task. For newer players, make sure you know that the card has been errata’d these are range 5 now, effectively making them snipers. Which is good because they can’t move. As emplacement troopers you want them to go early to get a standby set up because of their built in Sentinel. Place them on a good vantage point to guard your objectives and dare your enemy to come forward. HeavyThe original Core Set is still a great place to start. It’s an economic way to get a few good starting units, all the cards, dice and tools you need to play the game and even a second army to split with a friend (or keep for yourself if you want to play both sides). If you’re splitting with a friend, it’s not even a bad idea to buy two and double your starting options. Here come the clones! These copy cats are amazing at activation control and allow you to make a longer play for the goal line. Republic armies can be a slow burn army that can take time to see the fruits of you labor. This week we are covering factions: What play style does each faction have and what should I buy next? Other Corps Units –Your core Rebel troopers are absolutely fine. Once you get some DLTs you can go without anything else and be just fine. Still, the Veterans and Fleet Troopers are excellent and cover some other roles that the core troopers can’t.
