This is actually an error card. Most people know that Pikachu does, in fact, have red cheeks. But as the story goes, the Wizards employees changed the original artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita. Arita’s version had yellow cheeks, and the employees changed them to red, assuming that it was a mistake.
