The Maxxis Assegai tyre is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and get a too square shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance.

EXO casing is the most popular casing from Maxxis, and features a densely woven fabric which is flexible and lightweight to protect against cuts and punctures. This high traction compound is the same one used by our top World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes and is now available in a variety of casing configurations to cover all riders.
