About this deal

Compared to the Blu-ray, blacks are extraordinarily deep and opaque, oozing off the screen with incredible inky richness, which again add some pop to the presentation. Anyway, once you get over the recasting Fury Road is one of the better action movies in recent years with incredible visuals, spectacular set-pieces and the best music score of the entire franchise. Absolutely FANTASTIC Service, bought and paid for on Friday morning and arrived on Saturday morning! I haven’t watched the 4K UHD disc before as I got to review the Blu-ray only back in 2016, but I remember it not getting high marks for video back then.

In spite of it being a sequel to a larger story, the production somehow feels wholly original because the visuals and stunts are dementedly elaborate, feeding to many of our childhood fantasies of playing with Hot Wheels toys. It's a war that must be seen to be believed, a road-scorching, neo-punk, take-no-prisoner combat set in a postapocalyptic Australia. The entire 90 minutes of road race (with the rest of the movie being more laid back), we see George Miller revel in a sort of insane action that is not seen in modern movies. Overall, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is a classic of the genre with jaw dropping action, memorable villains and Mel Gibson at his best but it deserves a better 4K release than this. Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defenders of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by The Humungus.Years later George Miller has resurrected the franchise with Fury Road, a weird hybrid of remake, reboot, and sequel all in one. All in all, this was a fledgling 4K UHD attempt with “solid” HDR application, and not much else to differentiate itself from the Blu-ray. Black level is set well, with good frame depth and shadows, but once again the white scale really pushes the image with the highlights. Mad Max: The Road Warrior has been given a new Dolby Atmos track which I opted for, and despite the controversies with added information, it is actually pretty good.

By the end of the movie you can see their growth and their trust in each other forming, but if you're just paying attention to the words you'd never see that.Other titles include Paramount Home Entertainment's Academy Award-winning Selma, a wide release of Universal and DreamWorks' Munich, and Warner Home Entertainment's .

At startup, the disc goes straight to a static menu screen of the cover art with the usual options along the left side of the screen. Review System: Denon AVR-X4300H, MK Sound LCR750 and SUR55T, XTZ S2 Atmosphere ceiling mounted, SVS PB-12 Ultra. Keeping the characters real, their actions natural but being set in a larger-than-life world, Max regains some of his humanity it the form of protector, giving excuse to the mayhem and purpose to the narrative. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Taking the dystopian future to heart, now set in desolation, the sequel is little more than one big action scene, that gets bigger and bolder with every passing frame.
