About this deal

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions, and thank YOU, reader, for being part of the Choices Community. The Shadow Queen is there, gathering strength, recruiting a new army of the Undead for a final confrontation. at about 51% the story very suddenly changes pace and abandons almost all of the characters from the first half of the book which was pretty off putting. Yet I can understand the reason for the misleading blurb; so much happens in this book, it's kind of hard to summarise without spoilers. You don’t even meet the MMC until the second half of the book, and the relationship progresses very little until the last couple of pages.

Exchanging Valentines can be an awkward process, especially when you consider “Vinegar Valentines” and other snarky sentiments - whatever your tastes, enjoy the sweet and sour cards alike in this gallery! The book picks up from Fade Out with Claire and her friends owing a debt to Morley, one of the less than pleasant vampires (if there is such a thing as a pleasant vampire! The Meh: The writing isn’t horrible, although the pacing leaves something to be desired (which I’ll get to soon). Same day/next day dispatch (mon-fri) all items checked before dispatch, Handled and sent out with care. I would consider Kiss of Death to be almost "monster-lite" - the MMC is supposed to be monstrous (he is Death, after all), which I like, but he’s also supposed to be gorgeous?Any images belonging to the author should be regarded in the same way as the previously mentioned written content and should not be used without permission. Scarlett's trip starts out innocently enough … though she thinks she's going to die after listening to native Scottish music performed by men and women dressed in traditional costumes. I'd had it for ages but didn't know where I was going to use it until the character of Edgar came along: "I suspect I may have fleas again". If you want to read a book that grips you and doesn’t let go, and isn’t 1000 pages long (I’m looking at you Crescent City by SJM), this book is for you. In Choices Insiders December 2022, PB confirmed that the book will be released generally in February 2023.

Rose's excellent writing-taut,economical and evocative-successfully counters his narrative contrivance, making this historical thriller an enthralling read, while he reserves one last twist for the unwary reader. HOWEVER if you are reading this book because you saw a tiktok or insta reel staying there is a revenge plot with “who did this to you? And I honestly am so confused how the author plans to turn this into a “why choose” because everything feels so disconnected. A school trip turns into a nightmare when Kim and Wes leave the plague-village of Eyam with more than they bargained for, and a stolen artefact wreaks revenge.I wish I didn't have to be this mean, but I've read a romance with death on wattpad written by a thirteen years old that was much superior to this. We've got some stunning outfits (my favorite of which is a super cute disguise) that will keep everyone's eyes on you, including that special someone. Despite being a lonely and reserved creature, he instantly recognized Hazel's worth and took it upon himself to ensure her comfort and well-being during her stay in his castle. The Opportunity: I would like to see faster pacing - maybe Kiss of Death and book 2, Touch of Death, should have been combined into one. There’s also an unfinished feeling; we spend literally half the book reading about step-brothers and then there’s suddenly nothing about them.

There was also the death and the maiden aspect of it, especially when we see Death’s POV and how he slowly comes to acknowledge his feelings but knows nothing can ever come of it. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. The book switches perspective throughout, but the writing structure didn't change between the two perspectives.

The following chapters have slightly different titles between the interface/index and the first page. When I started it, I was so excited to read something like this, but it was so poorly and repetitively executed that it bore me to d-e-a-t-h. We also see some characters that should have stood up for Hazel but never really did, or only did when it was too late. Cover: I think that by now we all know that Lauren Henderson doesn't really make her covers relate a whole lot to her books as a whole. It gets right to the point without any faff and is a really nice length for those who prefer shorter books. On a school trip to the plague village of Eyam, Seth is moved by the story of how villagers sacrificed their lives to the dreaded Black Death. I also wish that the author would take a bit more of a risk with the MMC to stand out from all the other dark fantasy romance and do something different and unexpected.
