Shadow’s friends, Tom Shimura (Asia Born) blurry dude in a white wig and sweater, and right behind him Xavier Mosley (Chief Xcel). was produced by Shadow in the span of two years using minimal equipment, most notably the Akai MPC60 sampler. The lavish six-LP vinyl package comes with a deluxe lift-off lid box with embossed title and “hype sticker”, 48-page hardback book, three double LPs, two in gatefold sleeves, all with printed inner sleeves and pressed on 180g vinyl. Nowhere on the sleeves nor labels do the words "Originally released in 1996" appear on this release. The way I describe this albums' soundscape would probably be akin to The Matrix if the sequels were actually on the same level as the original: hypnotising and fills you with a unique and unabashed feeling of ecstasy while paying many indebted homages. The sleeves have some artwork on them and are labeled to match which LP they hold with the track listing and additional information printed on them.
