Once again, I still know more about characters from other books than the main characters from this one. This book (and hereby also this review) deal with a past rape that is constantly mentioned in the book and that the heroine has to deal with. I think because the case seemed a little convoluted in parts making the investigation long and frustrating on all count. When Cara Dunne is found hanged in her bathroom something doesn’t seem right about it and a post-mortem confirms she was murdered. I have to admit to feeling a wee bit sad for her kids as lets be honest, they do seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to Lotties career. We find out way later that he made all the furniture in his house so I guess this is supposed to be her appreciating it before she knows he made it or something, but no sweetie, this is just weird. I really liked Alicia, like mentioned before she has a lot to deal with and she was so brave and strong going through all of it. The plot is delivered in quite a fast pace through short chapters to represent the urgency of the case, in particular finding the lost little girl.

I'm guessing this guy will be the MC in the next book, but why is there a random chapter in this one?
