The novel was full of great characters and several story-lines that kept me gripped and wanting to know more. First and most devastating his wife has passed away, the newspaper he works for is going under, and then he is forced to move back home with his 9 year old son.

The resolution to this specific mystery is done but oh boy, there are SO many things I'm desperate to know. Some female students at a local college have been the subject of attacks, and someone has killed and hung a large group of squirrels on display in one of the local parks. One thing I really like about this book was that it has connections to Too Close to Home, it's the same town and some characters from that book are in this one as well. Aunt Agnes, the indomitable matriarch of the Pickens clan swiftly attempt to steer Marla clear of trouble, engaging the best lawyer and stressing the mental fragility of her daughter's state.Her mother died of cancer recently, and the dad remaining - still grieving, and left to control the fiancé, who has turned into a raging alcoholic.
