Tom Turner is a reputed writer from America, who is famous for writing crime, fiction, thriller, and mystery novels. He is particularly famous for writing the Charlie Crawford Mystery series. His mystery books have done very well and have helped him in establishing himself as a noteworthy author. Turner is a native of New England. After the completion of his college studies, he stayed in Vermont and was involved in running a bar for some time. He shifted to New York after a few years and started working in an advertising agency. Author Turner held the post of a copywriter in a number of advertising agencies in Manhattan and also won several awards for his work. After spending many years in this line of work, he decided to undergo a radical change and shifted his focus to commercial real estate. This job landed him in Palm Beach after several years, where he bought, renovated, and sold plots and houses. The place attracted him so much that he ended up writing mystery stories set in Palm Beach. The history. The memories. The elegance. And most of all, the beauty—even on a rainy day, you still look at the ocean, the beach and all the incredible homes on South Ocean Boulevard. And I just don't UNDERSTAND. What is the point?! This book was thought provoking, maybe, but only if "?????" constitutes a thought.

My love and passion for collecting books began as a young child. It was out of a devotion to preserving these incredible pieces of history and culture that this business of buying and selling rare books naturally evolved over twenty years ago. Thanks to our many great clients who share our affections, we have succeeded in building one of the world’s premier collections of signed and inscribed first editions and documents in all fields, with particular attention to the subjects of Literature, Americana, Science, Economics, and Intellectual History. Pizza Alfresco is great—right on Worth Avenue, it’s an adorable pizza and salad place and you eat in a Mizner garden. Sant Ambroeus is a wonderful new addition to the area. The characters’ decision-making and the events of the book did not feel realistic at all. Why would a random billionaire offer to double the salary of a man he just met? Why would said billionaire’s wife hire the first random writer that stumbles into her house (Rebecca) to ghost-write her memoir? p>The 20 Best Designer Coffee Table Books for Luxury Fashion Lovers; By Cat Hufton-Schiorlin, WWD (US), June 2023

Aerin Lauder: Every year we would go down to Palm Beach for multiple holidays and vacations. It was just the excitement of that first day arriving there and having that first glass of orange juice or scoop of ice cream. And looking at the ocean—that sense of happiness and contentment when I first arrived.

She loved entertaining. She was the one that always taught me the importance of chocolates and sweets on the table, not even just for dessert. The flowers and the table were always perfection—she always was known for doing incredible menu cards and place cards . In her dining room was that iconic blue Gracie wallpaper with the birds that she had in all of her homes. There was lots of blue and white within the home. The living room was blue and white, the sun room was blue and white, the bedroom was blue and white, her bathroom was blue and white. She had this fantastic turquoise bathtub. To this day, I am still looking for a turquoise bathtub.

There wasn't a character I didn't like, even the devious ones and there were a few. I love characters that are a bit edgy and Mrs. Stone was definitely that. I feel the same way about quirky characters and Mr. Stone delivered, along with being a bit unintentionally comical. I thought the author did a great job in making all characters interesting and memorable, even those who just popped in for dinner! This isn't thought provoking. It's a bland character study of someone with the conviction of a wet paper towel. It's not engaging or interesting to watch. It's predictable. She pretends she's great and then she pours a water bottle out on a shop counter because the worker politely asked her to obey a posted sign. She gets a man fired for insider trading and then she participates in insider trading and it's fine. That’s the premise of Aerin Lauder’s new book for Assouline, Palm Beach. Tracing the glamorous escape from the days of her grandparents, Joseph and Estée Lauder, to present day, it shows partly how Palm Beach has changed, but mostly, how it has stayed the same. The Breakers is still an institution. Colorful Lily Pulitzer and Pucci sheath dresses are still donned for dinner. Sprinkles still serves up the best ice cream in town. It’s just all enjoyed by a new generation. (A concept best embodied by a visual example: Slim Aaron’s portrait of C.Z. Guest juxtaposed with an photograph of Lauder herself, striking in their similarities right down to their yellow labs, despite the multi-decade gap.) You dedicated this book to your grandparents, Joseph and Estée. What is your favorite Palm Beach memory with them?

Thanks to Harper for my advanced review copy. I cannot wait to read everything else Adkins has ever written! And how we're given the opportunity to think "what would I do here"? as it isn't always what we think. Her husband is recruited by one of Palm Beaches wealthiest men and they are instantly making 6-digits! Her husband calls her out on this, and it doesn't work out for her. The FBI gets involved. But does she grow from this? No, she just kind of. weathers it and life goes on. She's never reflective. She never thinks about anything she does. She doesn't change. I will echo many other reviewers’ experiences that the book did compel me to keep reading. However, I really did not enjoy this book and found it extremely annoying at times. I did not find the events of the book believable, really disliked the main character (who I believe we are supposed to sympathize with), and am confused as to what we are supposed to take away from this story. For something cultural, there’s The Society of the Four Arts. It has a beautiful garden. They rotate exhibitions. Oh! Green’s Pharmacy. It's been around forever. It has the best soda fountain, vanilla milkshake, and grilled cheese. The main character, Rebecca, is strangely used as a mouthpiece for typically liberal talking points. As a left-leaning person who actually vibes with the points Rebecca makes about wealth inequality, I still feel like her character is more of an irritating caricature than she is a genuine vessel for the arguments she makes. I'm sure there are tons of subliminal messages to be found in this novel but, to be honest, I was simply entertained by the author's talent with words. I'll think about and try to figure out all that underlying stuff later. Much later! I guess there are spoilers in this review, but for there to be spoilers, there would have to be a plot to spoil, and there isn't. Rebecca then surprises herself when she accepts an offer from Mrs. Stone to work as her ghostwriter. Soon after, she finds herself invited as a regular guest at the Stone's high-powered dinners.
