It’s Only Time On their EP If Not For You (Bob Dylan Songs Vol. 1) The Cactus Blossoms reimagine four songs from the Bob Dylan songbook. Vol. 1 draws from Dylan’s early catalog and filters his work through the lens of the brothers’ signature harmonies and lush arrangements, adding new layers to these familiar classics. Pressed for Record Store Day on blue vinyl. Recently they have been contributors to the Crooked Beat Record Store Day releases Recutting the Crap Vol I & II, and Songs from the Astral Plane, Vol I: A Tribute to Jonathan Richman, and they recorded seven original songs at the legendary Inner Ear in Arlington VA, one of the last bands to have worked there before Don Zientarra closed that space in October 2021.. Holy Church of the Ecstatic Soul shows how sacred Gospel music was at home with Stevie Wonder and Blaxploitation-style funk and produced music celebrated both in New York’s underground discos (The Paradise Garage, Studio 54, etc) and later sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and Mary J Blige. Bastille: MTV Unplugged will be available in all independent record shops as part of the annual Record Store Day celebrations on April 22nd.But it’s “Barz Simpson” that has amassed the lion’s share of fanfare, amassing well over a million combined stream, with an abundance of online coverage: “The woozy funk beat on lead single “Barz Simpson” conjures a seamy, smoky, post-disco world where Sonnyjim, MF Doom, and Jay Electronica can run wild.” -Pitchfork. Although my opinion doesn't matter, I highly recommend that you pay a visit to your local record store on RSD. But I know this isn't possible for many people. Some of us are disabled. Some of us live in areas still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of us don't have a local record store nearby. Some of us have social anxiety. And what if you do show up to your local store and end up striking out? What if the scalpers scoop up all the copies and you don't want to give them your money? Stories and features from the celebrated book of the same name, brought to life with sound design and some much-loved Doctor Who voices.

Bastille frontman Dan Smith has said, “We’re so excited to finally release our MTV Unplugged show in full and on vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day. It was a privilege to work with some insanely talented musicians to put together these really different, special arrangements of a cross-section of our tunes.” The double vinyl set includes the original album and is accompanied by the previously unreleased “Evolution Demos,” mastered and cut by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios and featuring the singles “Recovery” and “The Way I Tend To Be.” The albumÂ’s eye-catching artwork features the sharp-dressed band crucified on flower-covered crosses, with a cryptic and self-aggrandizing manifesto describing them as “new prophets of love and truth.” Be that as it may, their prophecy was short-lived, though it may have foretold the chaotic, rudimentary sounds to come in punk, and even, the grunge era. Once again, Soul Jazz goes digging through the reggae vaults and produces another sterling compilation. If youÂ’re looking for a primer on the music of the island, you could do worse than buying every one of the records in this superb compilation series.” --All Music

This release is the latest reissue in UMRÂ’s on-going catalogue work with the Cranberries following on from the deluxe reissues of their debut album Everybody Else is Doing ItÂ… and multi-million-selling follow-up No Need To Argue, as well as vinyl editions of the bandÂ’s greatest hits collection Stars, and Remembering Dolores, a new compilation release that celebrated the life of much-missed singer Dolores OÂ’Riordan. The artists and sets showcased on LIVE AT LEVITATION have been chosen from over a decade of recordings at the world-renowned event, and document key artists in the scene performing for a crowd of their peers and fans who gather at LEVITATION annually from all over the world.
