Everything said about this legendary t overdrive in my case it's hand through Santana much more experienced era in the 80's I discovered this pedal. It was only later that I discovered that Stevie Ray Vaughan was also used. Another story, few people around me used it in the 80's because the Ibanez pedals were rarer and more chres the Boss pedals. General Setup could not be more simple and less original. For players to tap a little hardened, turn the knobs with your feet is as difficult as a boss, it will teach you, you bunch of lazy. Its hard to explain exactly why..but there is a singing musical quality in the tone which I don't remember my Ibanez TS-9 in the '90's having to just the same extent!.....its a very natural pedal to play..and thats one thing about it,you can really play it,not just stomp on it and it seems to work with you and co-operate with your intentions....I'm fortunate to have acquired some nice old guitars over the years and whether its with PAF,original Fender Wide Range,P90's,Fender Tele and Strat single coils it always seems to bring out the best...I've yet to find a guitar or amp it won't work beautifully with...

Like most players I have bought many pedals over the years but come the revolution if I'm told I can only keep one this is it! Express Post will usually be with you next business day in metro areas of QLD, NSW, SA, VIC and TAS. WA will take 2 days to metro and extra days after that to out side metro and rural areas. While the Maxon OD-9 is true bypass, the input and output buffers are retained. So it has a vintage-correct circuit, but the buffers are only in the signal path when the pedal is switched on. The OD808 has the traditional buffers, however Maxon has deviated from the 808 formula by changing the two output resistors to reduce noise levels. The result is that the new values make the OD808 electronically identical to an original TS9, rather than a TS808.

Damages caused by accident, abuse, alteration, or misuse are not covered by this warranty. Product appearance and normal "wear and tear" (worn paint, scratches, etc.) are not covered by this warranty. It can be used in clean or in addition to the distortion of the amp. It then added harmonics and sustain the sound. The OD9 as the original TS9 (yes, I know, these are not exact replicas, friends purists JRC4558D thing thing, this op-amp that costs something like ten cents), works wonders on an amp tube (Koch Studiotone for my part) and in groups. Indeed, as it tends to eat a little low, you come out of the mix very easily. And it creamy! With single or double, is happiness, but the reaction is of course different. Headroom to correct an OD, but it's a little drool in the last third. The clean boost is slightly colored, ideal to compensate for the low prevented that out of the mix with a Big Muff, for example. LED Power/Battery Life Indicator - Ultra bright LED indicates effect status (on/off). Dim or no LED indicates that the battery is low or not installed.

The OD-9 Pro Plus's new circuit uses different output resistors than its predecessor. After the unit's initial release it was discovered to have a high susceptibility to noise due to static electricity buildup. To improve performance, the values of the output resistors on the OD-9 were increased, but their positions kept the same as the original. This circuit change has no audible affect on the sound of the unit, save for reducing unwanted noise levels. In addition, the OD-9 features True Bypass Switching for natural, uncompromised tone in bypass. Even the pedal Ibanez TS9 to. Maxon IBANEZ manufactured the pedal and finally decided to leave under its own brand. In addition it is cheaper! hehe! The TOD also features Maxon’s In-Rush Current Control system - As soon as power is applied to the pedal, a small current is applied to the tube and begins heating it at a very low voltage (much like a tube amp standby switch) - This system dramatically extends the tube life. The TOD-9 provides all the classic tonality of the Maxon OD-9 with the ability to blend in Tube-generated warmth and additional saturation. TECH TALK: The effects editing on this is simple, There's three knobs, Gain, Tone and Level. The setup is pretty simple, just plug it in and go. The manual is very short, and almost unnecessary.

In 1979 Nisshin Onpa developed the legendary Ibanez™ Tube Screamer TS-808 overdrive, while also selling it under their own brand in Japan as the Maxon OD-808 Overdrive. This pedal became a worldwide success and was seen on pedal boards everywhere. Stevie Ray Vaughan used two of them in series on his board, plus other famous guitarists like Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, Santana, Rory Gallagher, Steve Stevens and Marty Friedman, just to mention a few, were using it too. With the Drive knob down, the Tube knob will add warmth and dimension to your tone. With Drive knob up you’ll get all this extra girth as well as increased saturation as the tube drives the clipping stage of the pedal.

Die Cast Zinc Chassis - Ergonomic design protects controls while providing easy switching access. Rubber bottom pad prevents accidental movement while in use. I've also tested this in comparision to Ibanez's tubescreamer (the more recent one, not the original with the Maxon chip) and I think the Maxon chip sounds much better. This is Maxon's original model with not that many extra features and there are several different ones with more options (that's why -1 on the features) but it all depends on what you require.... for me the more simple, the better. Middle: Tone -> adjusts the balance between high and low (turned fully left: little acute, bottom right: a lot of treble) Eventually, the commercial relationship between the two firms grew stronger in the 1970s, to a point where Hoshino Gakki (owner of the Ibanez™ brand) became Nisshin Onpa’s most important client. In 1979 Nisshin Onpa developed the legendary Ibanez™ Tube Screamer TS-808 overdrive, while also selling it under their own brand in Japan as the Maxon OD-808 Overdrive. Reviews

The TOD features a mil-spec 5703WB JAN Raytheon sub-miniature vacuum tube complete with its own separate Gain control (Tube knob). This tube stage is positioned at the front of the audio path, driving the OD-9 circuit.

The sound quality is fantastic, although the pedals respcte the sound of the guitar and the ampli.Je used with a Start to find the sounds of SRV, if not with a 335 to "scream "The PAF or with a telecaster riffs to make way Keith Richards.Bref this is not one like the other pedals, that is THE essential pedals. The TOD-9 features internal voltage doublers that bump the incoming 9 VDC up to 30 VDC for stable tone with low distortion and increased headroom. Coupled with a Proco Rat 2 for a combo / overdrive-distortion, it's just magical, harmonious and "get into it". I put a good quality score sheets and good response from the pedal to most power supplies (rather than 9V ...) I compared to the Maxon history, the one with the old style guitar (they both have the circuit JRC4558IC, it seems that the Grail is that thing), I preferred this one, had my vintage snobbery suffer ... It is less sweet and a little wider spectrum found, but it has to play fourth-hair calf ant.

Please note, Godlyke, Inc. is no longer Maxon's Distributor and will no longer be receiving inventory from Maxon Japan. If you're interested in the OD808, please see Godlyke's new collaboration with Mr. Tamura (original Tube Screamer Engineer), the T amura-Mod Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer.
