This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use.

The story in Snowed In for Christmas is one that is told by changing the point of view between the various characters to show all sides. Morgan captures the beauty of the setting and the slightly imperfect family Christmas story with love on the horizon! She thought about Maya and her new flat and how scared she’d been taking on the responsibility of a mortgage. Getting influencers on board at this late stage is going to be next to impossible, and you’re the one who makes the impossible happen. Clemmie’s announcement causes some friction and Glenda feels as if she hasn’t served her children well.

The previous year she’d forced herself to celebrate Christmas, although maybe celebrate was the wrong word. A (sort of dysfunctional) family full of people having difficulties communicating, while making up issues for themselves that turn out to not be all that remarkable when finally faced, didn't exactly win me over. Yes, it is told all from female viewpoints, but I liked the difference in generations and the role they have within the Miller household. She’d seen him working until midnight at his desk, staring at numbers as if willpower alone could change them. Although I honestly don't find myself reading many romances nowadays, I'm always delighted to get my hands on the year's Christmas book from Morgan.

When Lucy and Ross have a chance to talk, they find out they have more in common than their passion for their work. Lucy works in advertising and wants to help save her agency from going under by bagging Ross Miller's sports wear account. Cliche that it has become, it's the perfect Hallmark Christmas moment wrapped in festive paper and sparkly ribbons and given to readers as a gift. The story is centred around Lucy and her dedication to her boss and close friend Arnie and in saving his company from making redundancies at Christmas.Alice’s boyfriend Nico just proposed marriage, but she hasn’t said yes yet, and she doesn’t want her parents to know about the proposal. My favorite character was the sassy and spry Nanna Jean, whose cleverness I can only aspire to emulate. She felt depressed and a little sick, but neither of those things had anything to do with the Fingersnug. Ross, Alice, and Clemmie all conspire to hide secrets from their overprotective mother before they go home for Christmas. It’s pretty hilarious, especially the delightful but unfiltered Nanna Jean who makes it clear that she wants to see some great grandchildren.

I always look forward to the author’s annual holiday stories and this one just kept me in my happy place. I love reading Sarah Morgan’s enticing and evocative tales any day of the year, but I have to admit that her holiday books are extra special. She only wants to stop by and drop off the proposal, but a huge snowstorm makes it impossible to leave. All that was missing was a few reindeer (although they do feature at some point in the narrative too). Sarah is so bloody good at creating worlds and characters you fall instantly and hopelessly in love with, and Snowed In For Christmas is no different. And now it was almost Christmas, and if ever there was a time designed to emphasize the lack of family, it was now.
