At 0.7l the collection bin isn’t enormous but it’s a significantly more useful size than the 0.45l bin that comes with the Hoover HF500. This should be enough to clean a house without having to empty part way through, unless your house is particularly large or filthy. The battery can be charged in the vacuum or separately and should reach full charge in 2 1/2 hours. In terms of size, the device is fairly standard, standing upright at 260 x 210 x 1,110mm (WDH). It weighs 3.4kg: the handheld unit is around 2kg, with the floor head and wand making up the remainder. Introducing the NEW HF500 Anti-Twist cordless vacuum cleaner - the new and improved cordless vacuum with anti-twist hair detangle floorhead, improved battery and fast charging.

After testing out the HF500 Anti Twist Pets in my bedroom (where most of my hair accumulates) I can confirm that the amount of hair in the floorhead was much, much less than when using my corded vacuum! What’s the battery life like? This Hoover is so light! Once I had put it together I was so surprised, this is the most lightweight vacuum I have ever used. We live in a three storey house and it’s no fun lugging a heavy vacuum up two flights of stairs so this is brilliant for us. It’s compact size also makes storing it easy too. It stands upright on it’s own, you can make it shorter to go in a cupboard or it also comes with a wall mount so you can hang it up. How does it work? In use, the system is clear, informative and simple to use. It doesn’t detect carpet or switch power modes automatically but it’s easy enough to do this manually. Two colour coded indicators are featured on the front of the cleaner, one to keep you informed of the batteries charge level and the other to alert you when maintenance of the filters are required. There is a wall attachment included, as well as screws and wall plugs, if you want to store it on the wall. This makes it easy to follow the suggestion of leaving it plugged in and charging between use (except for prolonged absences). AD I received the new Hoover Anti-Twist cordless cleaner to review. The first thing I noticed when it was delivered was how small and light the box was for a vacuum cleaner. This Hoover lives up to it's claim of being compact, but I found there is still enough space in the dust container for me to whizz round the house. I have been using this cleaner for my daily vacuuming of rugs, carpet, wood and tiled floors for the last couple of weeks so I have been able to test it out thoroughly. Look out for my 20% discount code at the end of this post. If you need an affordable cordless vacuum from a trusted brand, then the Hoover HF9 Cordless Vacuum would make a solid choice. It's really easy to use and charge, and has suction power that will do everything you need it to.

I spend hours every year having to remove hair from my corded vacuum cleaner so I was really intrigued to see how the anti twist feature would work. The brushbar has a mix of soft and hard bristles to clean all types of hard floors and carpets effectively. Use the CARPET button for deep cleaning, or switch off to clean rugs and hard floors. The other consideration is that using 'Boost' mode on this vacuum means that battery life goes down to 12 minutes. It's a useful mode to have and one that I enjoy using in especially hair-prone areas, but make sure not to have it turned to 'Boost' all of the time if you're conscious of using up the battery. Care and maintenance What I’m sure you all want to know is does the anti-twist floor head really work. Well I’m going to let the picture above speak for itself. This was taken after using the HF500 multiple times! There is a light which flashes red when battery power is below 10%, but I have found that I can still use it for some time after this light comes on, especially if I switch to less energy intensive options (eg not using turbo or turning the brush rotation off). You can charge the battery in the vacuum or separately and it fully charges in 2.5 hours giving a run time of up to 45 minutes. Emptying The Dust Container As I previously mentioned, I particularly like using the dusting tool around the home and the crevice tool is perfect for those hard to reach spots where cobwebs and dust gather. It can be charged anywhere

Above the buttons is a simple screen with icons showing what mode you’re in (carpet or hard-floor) and whether Turbo is engaged. The rest of the display shows the number of minutes of cleaning left on the device before the battery runs out. If the vacuum is plugged in, it will display the percentage of charge the battery has available instead. Dust and dirt gathers in all areas of the home – especially in those hard to reach places. Thanks to the wide range of accessories that come with the H-FREE 500, you can get the job done with minimal effort! With a large LED light strip on the front and compact parking position this vacuum has all the features you need including a 2in1 furniture and dusting tool along with a mini power nozzle which is ideal for pet owners when cleaning upholstery. All the attachments can be used attached to the main unit or the tube allowing you to have extended reach when required.I didn’t have particularly high hopes for the hard floor Cheerio test. The HF9 doesn’t have a soft roller, which is the usual path to performing well in this test. However, to its credit, Hoover’s floor head designers have built two funnels into the front of the head, which allowed the suction to capture some of the Cheerios and let them pass underneath.
