About this deal

This support slot brought OCS to the attention of more record labels, and eventually in late 1995, the band signed with MCA Records. The band suddenly catapulted back into the spotlight because of its superstar connections, but the music actually deserved the attention. Moseley’ takes its name from an area in Birmingham, ‘ Moseley Shoals’ is a tribute to Muscle Shoals, the legendary soul recording studios in Alabama. In fact, there's a pastoral poignancy to much of Moseley Shoals which owes more to, say, Fairport Convention than mentor/mate Paul Weller .

In 1998 they headlined their own arena tour in support of Marchin' Already and played three sold out nights at Stirling Castle, Scotland.Fourth track "Lining Your Pockets" is different, it's slower and reflective with a sixties British folk-pop sound that gradually builds to a crescendo as Simon Fowler's demonstrates the magnificence of his vocals. Fleeting Mind" that follows is another that has a sixties British folk-pop sound but with sharp jagged guitar work from Steve Craddock whose playing throughout the album is just phenomenal. A low-key start to their career was boosted by two things – the endorsement of two of Britain’s biggest pop stars – Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and the exposure given to the first single, "The Riverboat Song", by Chris Evans on his hit TV show TFI Friday. In November 2018 the band unveiled their first new material in five years since the release of Painting. On the back of these performances, Weller invited guitarist Steve Cradock to play on one of his singles, and vocalist Simon Fowler to sing on his album, Wild Wood. cette magnifique voix de Simon Fowler et les guitares de Steve Cradock on ne s'en lasse pas, un album qui s'écoute du début a la fin sans problème.We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Their recording studio "Moseley Shoals" in Moseley, Birmingham pays homage to the famous Muscle Shoals studio in America. It's another that could have come from the "White Album" as band mixes bucolic folk with a bit of blues before getting lost in a spell of extended what-does-that-knob-do twiddling but all the while remembering that they're a guitar-led rock band, it's at least as good a way to close the difficult second album as "Champagne Supernova" and that's saying something [and if anything here is close to mentor Paul Weller's solo sound then it's probably this track].

They even played on the "Moseley Shoals 15th Anniversary Tour", which they didn't originally record on.So while that's three out of three so far you have to question the wisdom, or perhaps the self-belief, of any band that front-loads its second album with three hits.
