About this deal

Rather than just taking scenes and replicating them, Villeneuve understood everything that was great about the original and used its DNA to craft a worthy successor.

A. area, with the overheads getting quite a workout as rain falls overhead, or the sounds of their vehicles rumble down onto the pavement. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Stelline’s imaginary holodeck are brilliantly saturated, and the greyish look of other shots only contrasts these highlights even more. It’s something that truthfully I’m not sure the original author would necessarily like or hate, but at the very same time is very much worth giving the chance: especially if you enjoyed the original. legendary Roger Deakins, a pioneer of digital cinema who personally oversaw the film's post-production on a 4K digital intermediate. I know I'm going to be coming back to this film over and over again in the years and decades to come. Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. A young blade runner's discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former blade runner Rick Deckard, who's been missing for thirty years.

It’s a tricky enough endeavor for a film that’s a few years old, but trying to do so for an iconic Sci-fi masterpiece that has shaped countless films over the course of 35+ years? Bigger in scope, with more to grapple with and discern, it's a long watch but it's hard to take your eyes off it. Whether it’s the pores on K’s face, the fur collar of his leather jacket, the tiny details in the floors and walls of the furnace room where K has his apocryphal toy horse memory, or the vast piles of junk around the orphanage, this is 4K heaven all the way.Blaster shots bring expected bombast, particularly when Deckard cranks out his older hand cannon, and you'll wonder if the house is coming down when the assault team blasts through the wall. Watching his face when he so desperately wants to feel something for Joi, and the moment when he comes to realize that his memories about the horse are real. The only way this presentation could have been better is if Dolby Vision had been available on disc, but what's here is likely to be the best there ever will be on physical media. The agent that we’re going to become familiar with is Agent K (Ryan Gosling), who is the 2049 equivalent of Deckard.
