About this deal

Eight years later and out on parole, Nikki Fife hires Kinsey Millhone to find out who really killed her late husband. It also appeared as a separate pamphlet given to attendees at Malice Domestic 2011 conference, where Grafton was recognized for Lifetime Achievement. Plenty of people in the picturesque Southern California town of Santa Teresa had a reason to want him dead. Although Kinsey is skeptical, she admits to herself that it makes no sense for a guilty woman who has just been released from prison to want to dredge up old controversies and scandals. Kinsey Milhouse is a PI that's hired by a recently released convicted murderer (Nikki) who professes her innocence and wants to find out who really killed her husband.

I mean, it is so completely obvious from the first introduction (how "sexual" Charlie was) that Grafton planned on throwing these two together. In "A de la alibi" naratiunea se face la persoana intai din perspectiva detectivei particulare Kinsey Millhone. Over the years, I continued to read each new offering in the series, with the exception of the last book written, 'Y is for Yesterday'. I first read Grafton's alphabet series many many years ago and decided to start them again on my kindle mainly because Millhone herself was still very memorable to me even though I can remember nothing of the stories themselves.

It was on that sandy beach seventeen years ago that the strangled body of Jean Timberlake had been found. Kinsey begins to suspect that Nikki might have killed Laurence out of jealousy, but she keeps an open mind and continues her investigation.

In "S" is for Silence, Kinsey Millhone's nineteenth excursion into the world of suspense and misadventure, "S" is for surprises as Sue Grafton takes a whole new approach to telling the tale.

My views in the following review reflect the person I was when I wrote them and may not reflect who I am today - for better or for worse. She details the surroundings, the people, Kinsey's thoughts, and more very much so that the setting and circumstances are real. As she began digging into the lives of the people who had been connected to the divorce lawyer – his ex-wife, his children, his law partner – she was frustrated. She discovers Fife's death has been linked to that of a woman in Los Angeles, his law firm's accountant; both died after taking poisonous oleander capsules, which had been substituted for allergy pills.

I began reading the 'alphabet 'series written by Sue Grafton when the first book, 'A is for Alibi' featuring private detective Kinsey Millhone, was published in 1982.Grafton's style is characteristic of hardboiled detective fiction, according to the authors of ' G' is for Grafton, who describe it as "laconic, breezy, wise-cracking". While going through a "bitter divorce and custody battle that lasted six long years", Grafton imagined ways to kill or maim her ex-husband.
