Lisa Schwarzbaum (November 9, 2001). "Monsters, Inc". Entertainment Weekly. Archived from the original on May 15, 2011 . Retrieved September 1, 2010. Steve Buscemi as Randall Boggs, a snide and preening monster with a chameleon-like ability to change his skin color and blend in completely with his surroundings, who makes himself a rival to Sulley and Mike in the scream collection. The crest on Randall's head may have been inspired by the possible wings of Longisquama, an extinct lizard from the Triassic period. Evans, Bradford (February 17, 2011). "The Lost Roles of Bill Murray". Archived from the original on May 20, 2015 . Retrieved May 25, 2015. After being banished by Mike and Sulley like in the film, Randall meets Vanitas and the pair form an alliance. Vanitas fixes the door which Randall uses to return to Monsters Inc. with a desire for ambition and revenge on his old enemies. Determined to prove that laughter is unsustainable to power Monstropolis, he uses the Unversed to acquire a means for negative emotional energy and managed to weaponize the machinery in the facility.

A prequel, Monsters University was released on June 21, 2013. Set in Mike and Sulley's college years, it is about how the two became friends and got their job.

Like I said, the storyline follows the movie quite well. Monsters believe human children are dangerous, but need their screams for electricity. So they scare them at night while they are asleep. But one day, a little human girl finds her way into the land of monsters. Sully and Mike meet Boo and have to help her get home, while protecting her from the other monsters. World Premiere of Disney/Pixar's MONSTERS, INC". The Free Library. October 28, 2001. Archived from the original on March 5, 2016 . Retrieved March 1, 2014. A world based on the film made its debut appearance in the Kingdom Hearts series in Kingdom Hearts III, [90] [91] making it the second Disney-Pixar movie featured in the series after Toy Story. [92] [93] The world takes place after the events of the first film. After the success of the 3D re-release of The Lion King, [45] Disney and Pixar re-released Monsters, Inc. in 3D on December 19, 2012. [46] Home media

Two Monsters, Inc. junior novelizations in one volume! In Monsters, Inc. join monsters Mike and Sully on a wild adventure that takes them from the Scare Floor at Monsters, Inc., all the way to the dangerous human world. Joined by the human child, Boo, the best friends must return the little girl before an evil plot prevents her from ever going home. McCutcheon, David (August 10, 2009). "Monsters, Inc. Founded". IGN. This is the first Pixar feature to have the "Created and Produced at Pixar Animation Studios, Emeryville, California" credit at the end. Monsters, Inc.: James P. Sullivan • Mike Wazowski • Boo • Henry J. Waternoose III • Randall Boggs • Fungus • Roz • Celia Mae • Needleman and Smitty • Flint • Thaddeus Bile • Jerry • George Sanderson • Charlie Proctor • Child Detection Agency • Sushi Chef • Tony • Josh Rivera • Pete Ward • Waxford • Theodore Pauley • Lanky Schmidt • YetiWaternoose: Finally! I never should have trusted you with this. Because of you, I had to banish my top scarer! Shortly before the film's release, Pixar was sued by children's songwriter Lori Madrid of Wyoming, stating that the company had stolen her ideas from her 1997 poem "There's a Boy in My Closet". In Monsters, Inc., Randall is very ruthless, short-tempered, manipulative, calculating, heartless, and overall evil in nature. He is also a cold, selfish, truculent, and argumentative jerk who doesn't care about anyone but himself. Judging by his intentions to capture children for their screams (and possibly never return them), he is probably willing to severely harm little children (or worse). Another lawsuit by Stanley Mouse alleged that the characters of Mike and Sulley were based on drawings he had tried to sell Hollywood in 1998.

When will my book be dispatched from your warehouse?

At one point, Randall threatens to put Fungus through the door shredder if he did not get him another door within five seconds. This is a reference to Carl Showalter, Steve Buscemi's character from Fargo, who was killed by being shredded in a wood chipper.

Veltman, Chloe (December 31, 2001). "Fun factory". The Telegraph. Archived from the original on September 27, 2015 . Retrieved September 27, 2015. This was the first Pixar feature film where both the opening Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios logos were shortened other than a typical short film, as well as the first to have the film's score play over it. Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. The simulation control panel has the numbers 510-752-3000 on it, which is also the phone number for Pixar's Animation Studio. For some reason, Randall is the only scarer in the first film that is referred by his first name on the Scarers' Leaderboard rather than by his last name "Boggs". At one point, this implies that Randall was actually going to be his last name rather than his first name.S.M. Oliva (January 22, 2009). "Animation is Built on Plagiarism..." Archive.mises.org. Laugh Floor opened at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, replacing The Timekeeper. The show is improvisational in nature and features the opportunity for guests to interact with the monster comedians, and even submit jokes of their own via text message. The attraction has been praised for it being original but has been criticized for being in Tomorrowland. Japan Yearly Box Office". Box Office Mojo. Archived from the original on May 11, 2011 .
