I’ve mostly tested the OneOdio A70 using my laptop as source. Music files used were FLACs by a good majority. OneOdio A70 Expect a reliable connection with a standard Bluetooth 5.0 range, a basic set of audio codecs, zero lag for watching movies, but no support for multipoint. Having both wired and wireless functionality is always appreciated, for those times when you leave home only to realise that you've forgotten to charge the headphones; for those long trips away from civilisation when battery life might not be sufficient; or simply to enjoy the best sound possible. A wired connection still trumps Bluetooth audio and will probably continue to best it for quite some time. When you've got big-sounding, punchy, clear 40mm drivers capable of satisfactorily reproducing Hi-Res Audio, as you have with these A10s, you might well opt to listen wired more often.

Starting with ANC off, the sound signature is noticeably V-shaped. There’s a good amount of bass boost that, thankfully, doesn’t sound overwhelming. Control is also via physical button, not touch control. For many people this will be a good thing, as the accidental triggering of unwanted actions simply by brushing the surface of an earpad is a well known irritation. The A10s have physical buttons for ANC, volume, audio source and power. The nicely judged balance between bass and treble was obvious in the new album by The Slow Readers Club, “Joy of the Return”. The definition between the driving bass lines and guitar riffs that typify the recent work of this Manchester band was spot on. At the end of the day, I liked the Koss better for the types of music I enjoy the most, like Jazz and acoustic. The richer mids made vocals and instrumentation more musical and lively, which I loved. The mids on the OneOdio sounded a little cold and recessed in comparison. Incredible Sound Quality: Custom 40mm large-aperture headphone drivers for the A Series offers clear, natural, and balanced audio quality that’s decent for most music genres, a robust sound that perfectly balances clarity with just the right amount of bass.

Bass is to the fore, although sometimes just a little woolly but there’s plenty of detail to be heard as long as the source is good. So for my sound tests, I hooked up the Pro-50 Studio to my LG V60 smartphone with the ESS hi-fi Quad DAC engaged. I used the mobile microphone cable connected to the 3.5mm side of the headphones. Transparency mode is adequate, but can make your own voice sound a little raspy in your own ears, and whilst there is only a minor amount of static noise that wasn't enough to bother me, it may not be to everyone's liking. It handles mid-distance conversations well, but any further and it may struggle - if someone is shouting at you from the other side of the room, you'll probably hear it, but you may not be able to decipher every word.

So as well as being a great pair of headphones for music, the OneOdio A Series provides excellent noise cancellation for everyday use and also for when it’s required when travelling on airplanes. You also get an airplane adapter with each pair so you can plug into those airplane systems via wired connection if bluetooth isn’t an option.Going into the more positive side, earpads use soft pleather with tight stitching that doesn’t seem cheap. The sound actually reminds me of Beyerdynamic headphones with their peak in the mid to lower treble, dip in the midrange, then a bass boost around 200hz somewhere. It results in a somewhat crisp sound, punctuated by an elevated yet tight bass. As far as accessories go, you get two cables, one coiled 3.5mm to ¼” cable for connection to a DJ mixer and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm straight cable (with a mic) that you can use with portable devices. Both are on the thin side. You also get a plastic carrying pouch. The build is pretty lightweight, but overall they seem pretty sturdy compared to other headphones in this price range. I wouldn’t recommend tossing them around, though.
