Description

Large wheels help with navigation across tougher grass and uneven terrain. The mower can be pushed and pulled on sloped lawns without requiring too much exertion due to its lighter weight. As mentioned, the mower comes with a 10m cable so you should find that it offers ample reach, unless your lawn is situated a long distance from your property. In this case, a good extension cable should make it a non-issue!

Since all of the parts of this mower are manufactured in the UK, getting replacement parts is extremely easy. The blade on the Bosch Rotak 34 is one piece of metal that will wear more slowly than a plastic blade would. This metal blade also provides a clean cut to each individual grass blade, leaving your lawn looking professionally cut every time. This mower is still limited to small lawns though, due to its size. We wouldn’t use it for anything larger than 300 square metres – otherwise you’ll be mowing all day. Mulching

Bosch Rotak 34 R Cons: What People Complain About

The Bosch Rotak 34R lawn mower is one of the best electric lawnmowers on the market today in the UK. It offers stupendous value for money and is so easy to operate. This particular model is slightly larger than the Bosch Rotak 32R as it has a 34 cm cutting width instead of a 32 cm one. Features: If you’re looking for something even cheaper, you would probably have to buy a hover mower, or something with an even smaller cutting width. is a suitable width for narrower gardens too, so if you are working in confined spaces or have an irregular shaped lawn that requires more complex manoeuvring, the narrower width should accommodate you fine. The main ergonomic issue with this mower is the handle trigger design. As you can see in the photo, the safety trigger is on the right-hand side. On most more expensive mowers, there are switches on the handle at both sides, allowing you to activate the mower with either hand. But with the Bosch, you’ll need to use your right hand exclusively.

You also only get a fairly simple handle design. On some of their more expensive lawn mowers, Bosch includes what they call “Ergoflex” handles, which come with a 90-degree part, to allow for more comfortable mowing. You don’t get a massive amount of functionality with this mower. There’s no mulching plug for example. However, it does have a lot of nice features, such as the grass comb and cutting height adjustment lever. Powerful for its size – the 1300W motor can handle tougher grass that smaller mowers often struggle with The hardened, ground steel blade has a cut width of 34 cm, and there are 6 cut height settings to choose from, ranging between 10 and 70 mm. The large 40 L grass box should enable you to cut the grass in one go without stopping to empty. Storage Less Efficient than it Should Be – The handles on the Bosch Rotak 34 R are supposed to fold down to reduce the size of the storage footprint of this mower, which in theory is a handy feature. Especially if you only have a small shed or garage that you keep your garden tools in. However, a lot of consumers complain about the ease of doing this, mainly due to the lower grade screws that are used to fasten the handle in place. As a result quite a few people just end up leaving the handles extended. Also, the 10 metre cable cannot be disconnected from the main body of the unit, and there’s no cable storage feature on the mower. So storage is definitely something Bosch could improve on with the Rotak 34 R.One of the best electric lawn mowers, the Rotak 34R features an impressive 1300W PowerDrive motor that can handle even the poorest kept lawns. As a corded electric mower, you need to plug it into mains power, with the 10m cable offering plenty of reach for getting around the garden – you can use an extension cable if this is still too short! Bosch has included grass combs on this mower – they’re the orange parts you’ll notice on the sides of the mower, near the blades. These grass combs help you neatly trim the edges of your lawn without having to use a strimmer. They’re a nice thing to have, especially if you’re fed up of struggling to cut the edges of your grass.

Lightweight and Easy – If you’re not capable of fighting to push a heavy mower or simply don’t want to, you’ll like the Bosch Rotak 34R as it’s just over 10 kg and rolls along nice and easily. This also makes transporting the mower to and from the shed an easy task rather than an ordeal. A lot of consumers also point out that the weight distribution on this mower is a lot more centralised than on its predecessor too. Remember, you should never remove too much length at any one time! Use the higher range of height settings for when grass is longer and the shorter settings when the length isn’t too long and you’ll have the perfect finish each time.As one of the lighter Bosch corded mowers at 11.1kg, the Rotak 34 R offers excellent usability. Manoeuvring it across the lawn requires little effort, ensuring you can mow for longer periods without feeling fatigued or achy – this makes an excellent choice for anyone that struggles to move heavier objects. There’s an electric start – no need to pull a cord to get it going. Once it’s on, all you need to do is squeeze the safety trigger on the handle to activate the mower. This plastic design is mostly a problem when it comes to the grass box. The grass box feels a bit flimsy, and can break over time. This normally occurs after the plastic is exposed to the elements for a few years, resulting in it becoming brittle, and then isn’t handled with care – for example when re-attaching it on the first mow of the year. The ergonomics of this mower could be better. However, this isn’t a massive issue for most people. Since this mower is designed for small to medium sized lawns, you most likely won’t be using it for extended periods. Therefore the design of the handle isn’t such a big issue.

First things first, we’re going to start off by pointing out the things that consumers feel the Bosch Rotak 34 electric mower does well. The Bosch Rotak 34 comes with a grass box that can be fitted to the body of the mower. This grass box has a capacity of 40 litres which is the perfect size for a small to medium sized lawn. Since it is constructed of molded plastic, you will not feel overburdened with the grass box attached to the mower. This grass box is extremely light and you will not sacrifice mobility and speed by having it attached to the mower. In addition to being light a efficient, the grass box is easy to attach and remove. Emptying the grass clippings from it could not be any easier as well. Never overthink grass collection again when you use the Bosch Rotak 34R. The Rotak 34 R is the mid-size option in the collection, with the electric rotary lawn mower designed for medium sized lawns. In fact, this mower is an excellent choice for most UK lawns, being suitable for most average size lawns here, while also being versatile enough to handle smaller lawns too.The price of this mower is quite good. It might not be the cheapest 34cm mower you can buy, but it’s definitely not expensive. The 34R also includes a rear roller for mowing stripes, and grass combs to help you mow the very edges of your lawn. The Rotak 34R has a 34cm hardened steel blade that produces a clean, precise cut on every pass. Like with any mower with a steel blade, the occasional bit of maintenance is needed for this blade, although it will most be sharpening after it dulls but this takes several years to happen.
