About this deal

Furthermore, because of your technicolour post of the other day, I found myself strangely - and utterly helplessly - drawn into purchasing an 8nr multicoloured pack of the same! Both barrel and cap are made from a sparkly black lacquered overlay onto probably a brass base with chrome plated fittings. Check out more info on these filling mechanisms including a video on how to fill each one on our blog. I am using the pen exclusively for notes, so dramatic variation in the flow doesn't matter very much, but I look forward to discovering patterns. It also takes some time for you, the pen user, to get used to your new pen and adapt your writing style to the pen.

My initial impressions are included in the pen photos but my opinion has changed over time as reflected in this review. The copper model looks good with Diamine Golden Brown, Noodler’s Golden Brown, Private Reserve Copper Burst, J. I was recently using this while taking a class for one of my licenses and my style of writing with fountain pens is to cap it when I am finished with writing a sentence to minimize drying in the nib.The nib unscrews This style seems to be one of the harder ones to get ink moving on for me, but doing so isn't overly difficult. Obviously, it's too early to comment on quality control and longevity but, on this example, and having used it a lot over the past week or so, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't hold up to normal usage. It is said that he who learns the true number of the Jinhao models will ride the inky dragon to the great bottle in the sky.

Yes my X750 has been inked up with Diamine Pumpkin, my new favorite orange, for a couple of weeks now. Laura and I have managed to convince our knitting compatriots that Hobonichis are cool and Laura has…. Both barrel and cap are made from a glossy black lacquer overlay onto probably a brass base with chrome plated fittings.During the last few weeks that I’ve used this pen, I’ve begun to enjoy its writing experience much more than I did when I first bought the pen. The pen shows a few minor scratches in the steel body from my keys, but one would have to look for them despite how much I have bounced it around. It’s a good entry-level pen too, and like the x750, some fountain pen users have hacked it into a flex pen using a Zebra nib.

This consists of either dipping your pen nib and feed in ink, or forcing ink from the converter down into the feed. As with many of the other fountain pens in this blog so far, the Jinhao X750 was one of my first fountain pens. I don’t know if there is a lot of Jinhao in my daily rotation but I am super happy with this purchase. A long time ago, back in November of 2011, I posted a very short snippet about a new fountain pen that I acquired.

The cost of the pen makes each of these events much less stressful than lending out a nicer pen to someone unfamiliar with using fountain pens. is at the base, so I'm guessing Jinhao uses the same nib blank in other pens that have gold plated nibs. I have read about some inconsistent quality control on the Jinhao line but I decided to take a chance and worse case I could break out all that nib tuning and smoothing supplies I have bought over time and been scared to destroy any nibs.
