About this deal

After about 5 mins of driving the light went off and I didn't see it on again all the way home (20 mins). Does the flashing light /ticking sound always happen with the power supply always plugged in one wall socket and never in the other power socket?

well looking at the above, The car is showing none of the other issues, There is no black smoke at all, once reset the car is acting as normal, no hissing or pops, and the car is not lumpy or failing to start? The dpf light has never came on just the eml light sayin dpf pressure sensor but i replaced that ad no light again so far! Yeah definately needs new glow plugs mine was doing exactly same and now has new NGK ones and is fine. Its really important that during a regen you get the revs up and get the engine load up (the ideal thing for dpf regen would be a hill climb for example). The inaccessible clogged valve at the back was giving the glow plug warning light on, 4-5 months ago.Ironic in light of the EGR being a key component in keeping emissions down and the cheat software thing! No, the problem existed before the service, and has remained pretty constant, so I'm not thinking it has anything to do with the service itself.

I removed the switch thinking that was the issue and rewired the light directly to the wire going to the breaker box, but the light still didn't work. the only way you truely know whether you need to change the glow plugs is when your car starts to struggle on cold mornings when starting it such as the mornings we are having. Failing this, if you venture along to a social event, someone usually has VCDS and I'm sure will help you out. I immediately thought of fuel starvation of some sort, but couldn't get my head around how that could be affected by engine temperature.I never get the starting problem without the warning lights, and I never get the warning lights without a non-starting 'episode'. Saturday still looking for loose /dirty connections what ever it is must have got worse as flashing glow plug light now every time I start the engine cant clear it engine warning constant also ABS but waiting for sensor for that . I have still 1 months warranty and car was recently serviced before I purchased (agree, prob oil job only). Now got my brim back, back to its amazingness, it was a boost sensor that was faulty, the first garage I took it to admitted to resetting the ECU and not replacing the sensor first time round. It is of course correctlylit during a cold start, when the glow plugs are being heated to assist combustion, and in cooler conditions may remain on for some while after engine start as the glow plugs often remainheated for several seconds (even up to a minute or so?

Im using the app so cant see ur model, my had 73k on clock, u could just change the faulty one but in my opinion the rest could be on thier last legs too? I had glow plug lights up and limp mode several times due to post dpf sensor going intermittent open circuit. I see your logic, but the starting problem is definitely linked to the warning lights in some way - the lights come on when I get a 'first re-occurance' of the poor starting after the warning lights have been off for a week or two.
