The story was one that I found to be unique and hold qualities that I have not seen in a mafia romance book. One thing happened where I personally thought because of Keller’s demanding and protective personality should have been done differently. He would then make a new life in New York and now believed he had it all as he lived as a mafia hitman by night and one of the most famous boxing trainers by day. Both were insecure in the fact neither thought they were good enough for each other, but they found a way. The spice was a great addition, I liked the elements of mafia mixed with boxing, I also loved that there really wasn’t cheating or like severe OW drama like a lot of these types of books.I understand that she’s a UK author, but if the book is set in America the characters should sound American, not English (Sienna is the obvious exception). Jamie (the stalker and Junkie) even repeats this behaviour in Keller’s face and even sends some of the threats to his home and he doesn’t kill him just burns his car. There were some scenes it definitely gave me the ick but nothing you can just keep reading, also one trope inserted almost at the end that it’s just not for me truly put me off but other than that it was a great book, read at an excellent time. His Bob Lee Swagger series took the world by storm in the 90s, and he has a new collection of novellas this month featuring Bob Lee, Earl and Charles.
