Scott’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection for Moschino featured bags in the shape of traffic cones, with a dress like a giant yellow feather duster, while the Spring/Summer 2017 show was a life-size collection of paper doll clothes. Originally aspiring to be a painter, he translated his love for prints and color into fashion design. I forgot that I had this one, I don't like the name and I don't like the bottle it looks like Olive Oyl.

I detect some angular (insecticide kind of) citrus at the beginning with a sort of strange white piquancy rising soon from the background before a sort of pungent floral mess starts to bloom out with a sort of detergent/repellent kind of vibe. Under Scott’s reigns, the brand pursued a theatrical and ironic take on fashion, launching perfumes in the shape of cleaning supplies, presenting over-the-top collections inspired by Marie Antoinette, collaborations with Barbie and incorporating altered versions of iconic logos such as McDonalds. After collaborating with Italian fashion house Versace as an illustrator, the Istituto Marangoni graduate started with his own namesake brand. You remove the teddy’s head to reveal the spray – and enjoy citrusy woody-floral top notes of juniper, mandarin, bergamot and spicy cardamom.

The musk certainly dominates the drydown, however I don't see this as being this fragrance's downfall. Since the eighties, Moschino has been known as a brand that dares to explore new grounds of fashion. It has more of a raw, 'don't mess with me' kind of approach, which would really suit a strong and determined woman. Together they create such an unusual yet classy scent, which is not too spicy nor too bitter or sour. Featuring zesty pink grapefruit with succulent blackcurrant, floral notes of lily of the Valley, pomegranate, rose and pink hyacinth float cheekily atop a softly musky base that begs to be nuzzled. Delicate notes of osmanthus and white peony give away to an inviting accord of cedarwood, ambrox and white patchouli, in the dry-down. It follows, then, that Scott is the chap responsible for putting fragrance in traning shoe shaped bottles, inside teddy bears and even cleaning fluid type containers that might look more at home under the kitchen sink than on your dressing table.

I will admit that this fragrance will probably not capture you instantaneously, instead it will grow on you and develop into a scent that is truly difficult to resist. The fragrance inside’s as cheeky as her outfit: bright, bitter orange cooled with a kiss of raspberry, mandarin and blackcurrant sorbet, pink peony, jasmine petals and magnolia blossoms irresistibly tumbling to a soft woody base. Cheap and Chic is it's extremely soapy, aggressively generic, and decidedly too sweet: Much more on the cheap side than the chic side. Violet, hawthorn petals and lavender come together in its floral heart, and as the fragrance is skin-warmed, the base elements of cedarwood, sandalwood and vanilla beans develop a very huggable warmth. I Am Not A Toy‘ perfume became an instant sell-out, drawing a queue which stretched round the Knightsbridge block.
