Description

She works at home as an investigator for ProEye, chasing down criminals online, and she is quite good at it.

There were a lot of descriptions that didn’t add to the story, mostly around clothes and hairstyles. It sat in front of her, stained and discolored after a long residence next to the unforgiving elements of an estuary reeking of equal parts saltwater and freshwater.

That had mollified her mom, since Gibson would show up at the crime scene only after all the danger had passed. They even tell it to you during orientation as a warning sign against complacency and not going the extra mile. Simply Lies” starts off with Gibson juggling her remote investigation work with ProEye, a global investigation firm that focuses on hunting down wealthy individuals making illegal income and cheating on their taxes, and being a stay-at-home mom. This is supposedly a standalone thriller, but I would love more stories featuring these two characters working together.

While being complete opposites, the two female leads are the definition of strength and intelligence and are an intriguing pairing moving forward. From out of the darkness, a slash of white and twin pops of color representing a toothy mouth and bulging eyes. She could only describe the architecture as an unruly blend of baronial, feudal, and gothic with a bit of Versailles thrown in for no apparent reason. Mickey Gibson, former cop and detective, is now working for ProEye, a company that chases assets of mega-rich deadbeats. Darby threw the ball out of the playpen and hit her mother in the back before starting to wail, then tried to climb to freedom over the playpen rails.

A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy. Figuring out who was genuinely evil was near impossible, and the number of red herrings was enough to repopulate the Atlantic! I’ve been reading the author’s books for over twenty years and though I can't say that I’ve enjoyed all of the books I’ve read in equal measure when it comes to action-packed thrillers, David Baldacci is one of my go-to authors. Nimbly catching the ball, she said, “Larkin’s probably already regretting not burying those funds deeper, offshoring them in the Cook Islands or laundering them beyond our reach. Their voices complimented each other nicely and I thought that their performance added to my overall enjoyment.

But Gibson was pissed because while the blouse was hers, she’d had to borrow the pantsuit from Dorothy Rogers, her mother.I learned nothing about how anything works, including information gathering via the internet and/or the “dark net. The guys had been initially faster than she, but their endurance had petered out around the 5K mark. In other words, “she’s a liar, plain and simple,” and she has strong motivation to get Mickey involved. David published his first novel, Absolute Power, in 1996; the feature film adaptation followed, with Clint Eastwood as its director and star. This year Baldacci is branching out again with another new character – Mickey Gibson – a former cop and detective, current global investigator, and more importantly, a single mom with two young children.
