Layken and Will must find a way to fight the forces that threaten to tear them apart… or learn to live without each other. The thing is after Slammed and POR they are together, this is not a spoiler, this is something you know when you start this book. There's a part of me that debated writing a review for this book at all considering the majority of this is just rehashed material from the first book with little new offerings. Librarian's Note: The ISBN 9789383260195 for this book was also used by " Shekhar Kapur's Devi - Vol. You get Slammed from Will's point of view, but you also get the continuation of Will and Layken's story after Point of Retreat.Waking up to one another for the first time as husband and wife, Layken finally begins to feel secure, knowing that she has Will's future. They are in their honeymoon and after a lot of “action” they are having a break (super rolling eyes) and Lake asks Will to tell her how he lived their story. But it was a perfect conclusion to the year of up’s and downs they encountered with their relationship and with Layken’s mother’s illness. I feel if the story was told with Will having a conversation with anyone else other than Lake (maybe Kiersten or Kel), the variety and humor would've vastly improved the book. This didn't feel like a full enough story to be retold in the way it was and it was just a waste of time having to backtrack through all of that just to cherry pick whatever new experiences Will had to offer in the narrative.

It's been so damn long since I first read Slammed, it was one of the first new adult type books I had ever read and there's a reason it's a classic. I get that he’s the main character and main characters are always perfect but sometimes they’re not real.
