First things first, let’s talk jars. Size matters depending on what kind of foods you want to add to your jarcuterie. But generally, smaller sizes are better for handheld eats. Mason jars, both the 4 ounce and 8 ounce size work great. The idea in creating a food board is to create color and texture that fits the holiday or event you are planning. Here are some ideas of what you can include. Generally, I like to include at least one item from each of the categories below and top it with one little sweet as a dessert. (Except for the dips, those are for building a veggie or fruit jarcuterie for grazing.) In the next section, I’ll go over the best way to put all the ingredients together in a jar so they stand up and look pretty too. But here is a general list to use as a shopping guide for inspiration.

What’s a “coochie” board? We all know that “charcuterie” can be a bit of a mouthful, and the Internet never disappoints. Some people pronounce it “charcoochie”, so of course the “shark-coochie” meme was born and this is the cheese board to go along with it! If you’re planning a beach-y or shark week party, pair this “shark coohie” board with my Beach-themed Candy Board for dessert. Cerignola olives: More of a yellow green,Cerignola. These gigantic green olives are harvested in Cerignola, in Italy’s Puglia region, the heel of the boot. They are crisp and fantastically buttery Here is what you need to make a Charcuterie Board. Don’t overthink the process. A rectangular or circular wooden cutting board or wooden turntable will work in creating this fun party idea.

The Best for Recreating Scenes From the Queen’s Gambit

Appetizers are the perfect way to get your guests excited for what's coming next, and a charcuterie board is an easy centerpiece that can be made by anyone. A great selection of meats paired with some cheeses makes this dish not only filling but also visually stunning! Finish With Garnish: Add a little herbal garnish like rosemary or thyme. Or for holiday themed jarcuterie, top with a piece of seasonal candy to make it fun. Due to the natural beauty of the wood grain, there may be slight color variations in each finished product. SHARK COOCHIE BOARD, Uhhh I mean Charcuterie Board! Simple and comical, yet elegant! Your kitchen and your best friend's kitchen needs one of these!

A charcuterie boards is ideal for parties. Charcuterie boards are a type of appetizer that traditionally include cured meats served cold. Niçoise olives: Also from France, the Nicoise olive can be dark or light brown with a very herbal flavor. There’s also material to consider: wood is rustic, easy to clean, and relatively lighter than slate or marble cheese boards. If you want something super impressive looking, you might want a crystal or stoneware one. Whatever you decide, if you need inspiration on how to lay things out, TikTok is full of fancy shark coochie projects. Hardwoods provide a wonderful selection of grain patterns, colour variations, and textures, The cutting boards crafted from hardwood will have variations in colour and grain in each strip used to create the cutting board. Because no two trees are exactly alike the colour of the wood strips within the cutting board may vary from light to dark. The picture and letters might be darker or lighter than in the picture shown. However, there are many modern takes on the classic charcuterie board, and they often include other appetizer items.

Dips: hummus, baba ganoush, ranch, yogurt dip, tzatziki, white bean dip, cheese dip, guacamole, artichoke dip, olive tapenade, roasted beet hummus There are plenty of ideas out there for dessert boards, and you can take the same concept to make individualized dessert jars! These are perfect for holidays where there are plenty of themed-treats and fun shapes to add to your dessert jars. Remember to use the same tips from above to fill them by starting with something small and then building up to larger pieces. The board comes with the funny phrase as per product photos plus your name or names. You can add the date as well if needed. Fill In The Top Of The Jar: To finish your jarcuterie, fill the top with more olives or grapes, and add a little something sweet like a piece of chocolate or fruit Dried Fruit: apricots, banana chips, dried mango, dried kiwi, dried cherries, Craisins, dried blueberries, raisins, dates, dried pineapple

Nuts & Seeds:almonds, peanuts, cashews, pecans, shelled pistachios, walnuts, marcona almonds, candied nuts, chocolate covered nuts, pumpkin seeds, pastel candy coated Jordan almonds, pomegranate seeds (which have a great jewel tone for holiday jarcuterie!) We use a laser engraver to make each piece. This carefully burns the design into the wood. Each piece of wood is different and can react differently to the burn based on the wood grain of each board. Since wood is so different, some boards can engrave darker than others. I originally made this Shark-Cuterie board for The Food Network to celebrate Shark Week, but it’s great as an un-brie-lievably cute summer-themed or beach-themed “choochie” board throughout the year. We even make breakfast jarcuterie one weekend, with easy to “sip” granola and blueberries inside the jar. And on top we layered handheld eats like a mini blueberry muffin, hardboiled egg, and bacon. The perfect gift! ...Includes free laughs and guaranteed to make the recipient go "Dude...That's awesomeeee." ...And just like that, the counter top will be safe from a knife or sword-wielding significant other. Perfect for Shark Week 2023!

The easiest move, if you don’t want to be bothered with getting separate cheese knives, is getting an all-in-one set that comes with both, so the only thing you’ll have to add is the veggies and cheese. Of course if you’re looking to fancy up an outdoor picnic, you’ll want a tiny, portable cheese board. Oversized boards are great when you have friends over since they can act as the literal centerpiece of your gathering. https://www.etsy.com/HodgeMill/listing/664984205/gift-wrapping-make-gifting-a-breeze-this?utm_source=Copy&utm_medium=ListingManager&utm_campaign=Share&utm_term=so.lmsm&share_time=1544579549234

An Ornate Marble Cheese Board

As for the history of charcuterie, the Food Lover’s Companion says, “Taken from the term cuiseur de chair, meaning “cooker of meat,” charcuterie has been considered a French culinary art at least since the 15th century. It refers to pork specialties … which are made and sold in a delicatessen-style shop, also called a charcuterie.”
