Posology and Method of Administration If you are using medicines which are also to be applied to the skin you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Hydromol Cream as it might not be suitable to apply other topical preparations at the same time.

Hydromol Cream comes in plastic tubes of 10g (grams), 50g and 100g and tubs containing 500g with a pump dispenser. If you are using medicines which are also to be applied to the skin you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Hydromol Ointment as it might not be suitable to apply other topical preparations at the same time. Moisturisers are helpful for all dry skin conditions, particularly eczema, which gets worse when the skin is allowed to dry out. Used regularly they help restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility by helping the skin retain moisture. This reduces redness, scaling and itching. Hydromol Cream is a light and gentle moisturiser that helps to smooth the surface of the skin by sealing in moisture. Its unique formulation contains sodium pyrrolidone carboxylate, a humectant that attracts water from both within the lower layers of the skin and from the atmosphere when humidity is high. This helps to increase the water content in the upper layers of the skin, restoring its natural hydration properties. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines which are applied to the skin as they may interfere with Hydromol Intensive.

Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Just because a side effect is stated here does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect. Hydromol cream is generally considered safe for use on children as it is formulated to be gentle and non-irritating. It is recommended to consult with a paediatrician before using it on children, especially for young children or those with sensitive skin. Is Hydromol cream suitable for all skin types? Systemic absorption of topical corticosteroids has produced reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression, manifestations of Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, and glucosuria in some patients. The extent of percutaneous absorption of topical corticosteroids is determined by many factors including the vehicle, the integrity of the epidermal barrier, and the use of occlusive dressings.

Topical corticosteroids can be absorbed from normal intact skin. Inflammation and/or other disease processes in the skin increase percutaneous absorption. Occlusive dressings substantially increase the percutaneous absorption of topical corticosteroids. Thus, occlusive dressings may be a valuable therapeutic adjunct for treatment of resistant dermatoses (See DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION). Hydromol Cream is especially beneficial when used immediately after washing or bathing, when the resultant warmth of the skin enhancesabsorption. 4.3. Contra-Indications
