When tickets finally went on sale, all 72,000 tickets sold out in just three hours, even though no performers were announced apart from the remaining members of Queen. Disc 1: Opening Acts Disc 2: Main Queen Set Disc 3: Bonus Material On April 20th 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen, took to the stage at Wembley Stadium for the start of one of the biggest events in rock history, which the band had organised to pay tribute to their former colleague the incomparable Freddie Mercury. Also this is upscaled SD, not true HD, and this is shown by the fact that there is a 3 disc DVD version and 1 disc BR version. All brought their personal styles and interpretations, sometimes to telling effect, such as Minnelli's wry reading of the line "Mistakes, I've made a few" in "We Are the Champions. An uncomfortable kiss between George and Lisa after the song finishes reminds me of that staged kiss between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley a few years later at the MTV music awards. Roger Taylor – drums, tambourine, backing vocals, co-lead vocals (on "Tie Your Mother Down" with Brian May on 1st chorus, and on " Under Pressure" as a trio with David Bowie and Annie Lennox on choruses). UK crooner Paul Young (who had a big hit in America with "Everytime You Go Away") immediately follows May's song with the crowd pleasing "Radio Ga Ga".

Picture quality, considering this is standard definition, is generally fine with the close-ups particularly good. They may, however, long for more of Mercury himself than the brief video collages used to tide the Wembley crowd over during set changes that are included on the second disc. For me one of the key benefits of the release is the pop-up menu meaning you can go to any track from the opening bands (Guns and Roses Paradise City perhaps) to one of the Queen tracks (anything with George Michael - 39. Of course you'll never get Avatar-like HD, but, watching it on a 50" screen, closer shots look GRRREAT!Now for the first time both halves of the concert are being made available on DVD along with additional bonus material in this special edition release. million books, saving over 12,500 metric tonnes of books a year from going straight into landfill sites.
