Remove the old adventurer tile if it's still hanging around. Put the next one on the adventurer space. If this reveals a conference, it will occur at the end of the next round. Set the conference tile on the conference space, after the Drink Potion action space. Conference or no, turn the top adventurer tile face up. You will always know which adventurer is coming to town one round ahead. Conference The use of the app is very necessary to the game, and whilst it can be played without it would be needlessly complicated. If you are a tabletop gamer who thinks that games can do without a techy aspect then you may not like Alchemists. Place your action cubes on the actions you want to take this round. Different spaces have different requirements as illustrated below. The main logic is it takes a big circle and a little circle of a matching color and symbol to make a potion. So if you make a Red “+” potion (healing), then you know the 2 ingredients you used must have a red circle with a “+” sign in their alchemical. So you can safely eliminate every alchemical with a negative red circle. It’s through this process that you begin to figure out which ingredient goes with which alchemical.

Alchemists is published by veteran game publisher CGE and they are no strangers to putting out games with high quality components ( T’zoklin, Dungeon Lords). Inside this rather heavy box is a mountain of cardboard. From the expansive game board (with some really stellar artwork) to the 4 different player screens (some assembly required), everything that comes in the box is both high quality and thematic.In Alchemists, players take on the role of rival potion makers trying to become the most prestigious (and rich). The game is played out over 6 rounds in which players will be mixing ingredients, selling potions, buying artifacts and publishing theories. If you choose this space, you draw no cards, but at least you will get to go first ... or maybe second. Paying Gold

The card reader will tell you which alchemical was associated with each ingredient. Go through the theories one-by-one. On each theory, reveal all the seals.In the first round, you are allowed only 3 action cubes. In later rounds, you may use your full set of cubes. (The number of cubes depends on the number of players). Sell a potion to an adventurer: This is the only space that not everyone can do. Players will bid to sell a potion to the current adventurer. You gain gold depending on how close you get to the potion the adventurer was wanting. Test a Potion on a Student or on Yourself: Choose two ingredients and scan them with the app. It will tell you what type of option you just made. It will either be one of 6 different potions… or just water. However, 3 of the potions are harmful and there will be consequences for drinking those.

Each randomization has a four-letter code. Write this down. If you need to complete the game on a different device (for example, if your first card reader runs out of power), just tap and type the code into the new device. It will use the same randomization as the first device. This system also enables you to play with two or more card readers if you wish. Alchemists has two main mechanics (worker placement and deduction) and I’m going to talk about each of them in turn. Workers placement spots are resolved starting in the left most column, from top down. Then the next column gets resolved. In The Alchemist, you are presented with an extra choice at the beginning of the game. Three from eight patients are chosen at random at the start of the game. And then each player needs to choose with a patient they will try and cure. This is done by placing the relevant essence card into their flask. Each aliment will bring the player a different potential extra power if they can cook the right potion.
