They have sex (not always intercourse) 11.5 times in the main book (.5 for a hypothetical but described sex scene) and !THREE times in just the bonus scene at the end alone. And they fight at least once between almost every single one of those scenes. I can only think of one, maybe two sex scenes that felt natural for the moment and actually intriguing. It’s all just so repetitive and basic and truly overwrought.

Killian has a complete character makeover where he's gotten over Isolde and he's actually a nice guy again? Good for him. Several people have stated that Adrian has no control over Dis and that she should be afraid of him. Adrian tells her the same thing. Then she acts surprised when he loses control and becomes upset that people may be correct in believing that stopping Adrian is not a bad idea. Adrian even requests that she do so. So, are those people truly betraying you, or are they possibly… I don’t know, trying to avert a bigger problem? Also known as Dis. Ravena, the rogue witch who betrayed the High Coven hundreds of years ago, now has the Book of Dis, a spellbook that Yesenia wrote. Adrian is still on the hunt for Ravena, and dealing with the noblesse traitors in his court, Gesalac and Julian from last book's events. Isolde, newly coronated queen, has finally found a king worthy of her in the vampire Adrian. But their love for each other has cost Isolde her father and her homeland. With two opposing goddesses playing mortals and vampires against one another, Isolde is uncertain who her allies are in the vampire stronghold of Revekka. However, Adrian, her husband was also there consoling her using her touch and kisses. After their heated love-making, Isolde stood up emotionless and get dressed like it wasn’t a big deal at all. Her mind was succumbed with pressure and wants to immediately sit on her throne. Chapter 4 of Queen of Myth and Monsters

How far would you go for love? When Isolde, one of queens of myth and monsters first met Adrian, the love of her life, that question kept circling in her head. Because she was certain that involving her heart with Adrian would endanger the safety of her homeland and her father. Isolde was renowned for her brutality, the queen of myth and monsters. She does not have any compassion or forgiveness in her heart for those who would do harm to her kingdom. With their blood dripping helplessly, howls of beg are invading the ground.

There are nine corpses lying in a gory heap in front of the gate. Ilode’s guards were scooping them up piece by piece because of fear that their queen would suddenly speak in red and declare another war, even though the previous one wasn’t yet over. Chapter 2 of Queen of Myth and Monsters This is the second book in the Adrian x Isolde series, and I was so excited to get my hands on it once I finished King of Battle and Blood. I wished I was kidding when I said that everything that could have gone wrong with this book, went wrong. This series might be based on a love story, but I'd hardly call this book a romance. Compared to the first instalment in the series, where the characters have such depth of feeling and tenderness for each other with great spice; and so many side characters were introduced and readied for their moment to shine… It seems that the author decided that, instead of shinning, they are all to be plummeted into darkness. Including the MCs. Adrian is losing control of himself because the goddess Dis is controlling him more and more. As Dis is enraged at Adrian’s desire for freedom after being reunited with Isolde. He can’t be set free unless someone uses magic against him to break Dis’s hold on him, which doesn’t happen in this book. However, it is something that many people are afraid of. Which is why they go after Isolde, who is his only weakness. Adrian will die if Isolde dies. She is the most brutal of all the queens in the Lara Kingdom. Queen Isolde, the queen of myth and monsters had a happy upbringing until King George killed her mother, which caused her to become extremely enraged and want revenge. She swore solemnly that she would rob him of the kingdom of Vela and execute him without pity. Queen of Myth and Monsters is a that book contains several disturbing and violent scenes. The more you flip through it, the more interested you’ll become in this dark romance. Isolde is extremely unlikeable. While Adrian’s point of view is included, the majority of the story is told from Isolde’s perspective. That is, we see everything that happens through her eyes. Not from the perspective of an observer, but from her own mind. So we get her perspective on everything. And, while the author describes her as bitchy, there’s a difference between being confident and refusing to let people push you around and being rude for the sake of being rude. Guess which one Isolde is. I'll start by saying that I wasn't going to continue this series but I got approved the audiobook arc for this book and decided to give it a chance. I got to 29%. A conversation happened between Adrian and Isolde, and I can not keep reading when this is a plot device that is being used over and over again.
