About this deal

Definitely a stand out album of the 00s (and definitely a unique band) and should be up there with the likes of Green Day's American Idiot, The Killers' Hot Fuss and Radiohead's Kid A in the best alt rock albums of the decade.

MGMT est un album de questionnement, de doute, et de voyages intérieurs (c'est peut-être pour ça que le groupe a repris la chanson "Introspection"). If this was a vinyl release I would say side one is excellent, starting with "Alien Days" (check out the nightmarish video on YouTube). Titled 11- 11-11 in honor of that date, the music will finally be released on all streaming platforms on 11- 11-22, the 11th anniversary of the hour-long, one-off concerts.

It gave the world evergreen hits such as "Kids", "Electric Feel" and "Time to Pretend" which have inspired, and continue to inspire new generations of artists and music fans alike to this day - those three songs combined have been streamed over 2 billion times on audio streaming platforms since released. Guggenheim Museum in New York to create a wholly unique live music experience in conjunction with the Maurizio Cattelan retrospective All, which opened that autumn. The result is a diverse and powerful collection of 10 songs that directly mirrors the duo’s encompassing surrealist view of the everyday. The vinyl mix is supposedly "enhanced," however, on certain songs, like "Kids" (last song on Side 1), the bass is pounding away, and it sounds a little distorted, and the vocals are fuzzy-sounding.

Nods to their likely heroes aside, MGMT crafted a brilliant and personal work of art with OS, deftly achieving multiple feats: chart-topping, smash hit bangers (we all know the ones) that deliver the dopamine but never sound stale, weird, beautiful, abstract artistic tracks, eye-watering satire ("Time to Pretend"), willfully "stupid" pop efforts that unintentionally sound 200% better than almost all pop tracks released today, a poetic rainbow assortment of memorable lyrics, and complex themes both timely and timeless. Themes hinting at the apocalypse, drug consumption, the predatory nature of the music industry, young adulthood, childhood, loss, life, and stardom receive a fresh and clever coat of psychedelic paint in Oracular. Add all of these things up, and although I can't confirm the source, the 88697195121 is the one to beat.Congratulations' is a collection of nine individual musical tours de force sequenced to flow with sonic and thematic coherence. Catchy tracks that combine late 70s/early 80s neo-psychedelic music with modern pop and dance tracks make for a consistent set of tracks, with great meaningful lyrics (something that seems to be lacking elsewhere in today's music), great instrument playing (with solos and extended instrumental sections reminiscent of early Pink Floyd - Of Moons, Birds and Monsters is a stand out track on this front) and a few popular tracks to make it still appeal to the masses.

It's weird enough for the artsy indie fans and accessible enough for any patient listener to appreciate and enjoy, given time. There is a complexity to MGMT's music that is rare and welcomed in today's formulaic, cookie cutter music factory offerings of pop culture. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Foals take a fresh, thrilling new direction on with their upcoming album 'Life Is Yours', which will be released on June 17th via Warner Records. The album was originally released on January 22, 2008, and has since received critical acclaim for its unique blend of psychedelic pop and indie rock. The album features some of MGMT's most popular and well-known songs, such as "Electric Feel" and "Kids. This is that rare thing an album of potent musical quality that provides instantly catchy but durable pop music(I loved this album from the start and it's still getting better with every play). You could do a cover on a ukelele of "Plenty Of Girls In The Sea" and perform it at parties on the shore.
