Even more exciting is that once the HatchiBaby has hatched you are then left with three secret compartments containing the HatchiBaby’s accessories, and in the centre a secret message to reveal whether you have hatched a Hatchiboy or Hatchigirl!
You can use the bottle to feed it by popping the teat in between the beak and pressing down gently on the lower beak. You can stop the hatching process in the egg stage by simply turning the egg upside down for around 25 seconds to turn it off .Each eye colour means something different, for example purple means hungry, so feed the Hatchibaby with the bottle. When the music plays bounce your Hatchibaby backwards and forward, when the music stops, you stop - just like musical statues!
The eggs all look the same on the outside so there is no way of knowing whether you have a boy or girl until they hatch, although Harry was pretty certain it would be a boy! I can see this being an absolute must have for many children this year, and would advise getting hold of one now, while you can – they sell out fast!
Also beneath the Hatchibaby are the High Chair and the Surprise Accessories - you won't know which colours or varieties you will get. The Hatchimals also now come in two different species – Ponette and Cheetree giving you different ones to collect should you wish to. My gremlin loved this but if you overfeed (orange eyes), your creature gets gassy and may need the back of their head patting! It is very much like having a real baby where you play, burp, tickle and snuggle with your baby and it responds to you.
The eyes let you know how the HatchiBaby is feeling (see below) and your child is able to nurture the egg while it hatches.The hatching of the egg is great fun and to find out who is inside you need to hug, tap, snuggle and pat your Hatchibaby egg. You don’t need to worry about Hatchibabies making noise through the night as after two minutes of no interaction, they will fall asleep until you interact with them again. Then tap the sensors on he back and front of the head twice and your Hatchibaby will perform their secret trick. The forehead, the back of the head, the lower beak, the top centre of the chest (for the rattle and cuddle buddy), left foot sensor and right foot sensor.
If you give your Hatchibabies a lot of love and attention it won’t be long until they are ready to hatch. The Hatchibabies come in two new species – Ponette and Cheetree (as well as some other exclusive characters) so we were eager to see who we’d get.The eyes are visible through the egg and will light up with different colours to show how it is feeling. We were really excited while we were waiting for the egg to hatch, I was worried it might drag but there was so much to do I thought it was really lovely. It looks like Hatchimals HatchiBabies is going to be one of the hit toys this Christmas and likely to sell out. The Hatchibaby will stand up by itself and even dance, but the high chair is brilliant for storage and keeping all of the accessories in one place and safe. The HatchiBaby already interacts with you and you can snuggle, tap, hug and pat the egg to keep it happy and the more you play with it, the more excited it becomes.
