About this deal

Good 40k players consistently force their opponents to make choices between 2 almost equally bad outcomes.

Each craftworld's Guardians take up arms to defend their dying race, wielding deadly shuriken catapults or power blades, or shredding foes atop their swift Windrider jetbikes. The Shining Spears benefit from Twin Shuriken Catapults, but they also have additional shooting and combat capabilities thanks to their laser Lance.

You can still make "Engage on All Fronts" viable, but you really have to build your list around it to do so, and even then you may struggle to score points as you inevitably lose one or two units early on. War Spiders can hit monstrously hard, especially with the Exarch power “Surprise Assault,” as can a 10-elf unit of Dire Avengers in the Webway with the Exarch Power “Shredding Fire” and the stratagem, “Bladestorm”. Honestly, the way the game stands at the moment volume of fire combined with GUIDE or DOOM tends to be the most optimal approach for target elimination, partially because squads using this approach can threaten any target in the game- large units of Dire Avengers are especially good at this.

These are a great melee unit and great for throwing at infantry units you’d like to… what’s the term? According to Monday’s Warhammer Community article, which announced the new release, the Combat Patrol: Aeldari is coming out in April. With so many great units packed into one book, it can be hard to know where to begin – luckily, Combat Patrol: Aeldari gets you started with a perfect selection of speed and power. Now, if you’re the converting type, you could use the extra Farseer and one of those Windriders to convert yourself up a Farseer Skyrunner. This tray will hold one new (2022) version of the Aeldari Avatar of Khaine, one Fire Prism, one Tank (Wave Serpent, Night. I already mentioned earlier some of my own favorite secondary objective options, so I will not do so again here- just be sure you have a plan for how you can reliably get to at least 30 points for secondaries.

The Warhammer Community article says “the greatest strength of Combat Patrol: Aeldari is its flexibility”, and you can see that GW has tried to pack in a little bit of everything – some strength, some speed, some psyker powers – into the set. As a result, units that can deepstrike, especially those that can do so without spending CP, are especially useful. This new Warhammer 40k Eldar Combat Patrol has been confirmed by GW, but what kind of value is inside the box? With so few points at your disposal, however, every unit needs to offer an effective answer to one or more of these obstacles. They consider themselves superior to the galaxy’s other races and are afflicted by a gnawing sickness of the soul which only the suffering of others can fill.Remember these are mostly designed for new players to the factions just like the old Start Collecting Sets that GW introduced back in 2016. The War Walker, Reapers and jetbikes repositioned to take aim on the Whirlwinds managing to kill one and take another down to its last hull point. Also, because melee units fight on both players turns, their damage output is significantly higher than that of shooting units once they are engaged. If you know you will come up against lots of marines, for example, make sure you have enough high AP weapons to deal with Armor of Contempt or a Warlock with JINX to reinforce your Shuriken units.

This tray will hold one Maugan Ra, six Dark Reapers, 22x Guardian Defenders/Storm Guardians, two Warlocks, or similar size miniatures. Inside you’ll find ten Guardians, a Heavy Weapon Platform, six Windriders, a Farseer, and a Wraithlord. With a save of 4+ and 5+ invulnerable you’ll want keep this unit safely out of harms way until you’re ready to use them.
