About this deal

Zum Teil kann man auch das Fortschreiten des Virus in den immer skurilleren Bildern erkennen, auch wenn es in diesem Fall logischer gewesen wäre, die Zeichner des dritten und vierten Teils miteinander zu tauschen. Hopefully the score reflects my sentiment well enough overall so that it’s understood that these are nitpicks about a book I really really really enjoyed. I liked the idea of forcing Batman and Joker having to work together and playing off each other's strengths. In attesa dell'uscita a Lucca del Compendium di Batman Europa, ecco un'altra tavola dipinta di Batman Europa 2 (2016). There are some parts which look pretty good, and other panels where I have no idea what's been drawn.

However, most of Batman: Europa was quite nice, the only part that I found a bit hard to see what has going on was when Batman and Joker were in Paris and they are starting to feel the effect of the virus and the art is showing that.If you’re not turned off by this story yet I will continue to tell you that this was clearly DC’s attempt at recapturing some of the magic from Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s “Hush” storyline. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Giuseppe Camuncoli, Diego Latore Relancio, and (especially) Gerald Parel did some truly outstanding work. Batman and the Joker are both infected with the same virus, given a time limit they are forced to work together to find the cure and whoever it was that infected them.

This is an expensive book with eight pages more than the usual comic, but the layouts are big and splashy (there are 4 splash pages, in fact). I suppose that it's connected to Batman's deteriorating state as the book progresses, but it's still not pleasant to look at; it resembles unintelligible scratchy scribbles at times. With each of them deemed to pursue their lives with completely different lenses, their trajectories help us vividly distinguish their singular abilities to cope with their past and to mold their madness into actions that are either pro- or anti-social. Azzarello lives in Chicago with his wife, artist Jill Thompson, and tweets only when he has something to say.He stops his love affair with the city for a moment to follow a local piece of shit to where local pieces of shit get together and finds. We get to see some great moments between the two while they embark on a journey that never feels quite as dire or dangerous as it should. I’m all for trying something new with the character, but when the only thing new you add is compromising what makes the character great… well that’s not really new is it, it’s just misguided writing looking for a cheap shock.

Batman: Europa’s story was very thin on the ground and ultimately wasted a great concept - it’s a very forgettable tale - though Azzarello is incapable of writing a bad Joker (“My, my, what a pair we are… Heh”). A rare treat, one where artists can flex their creative muscles and bring some stunning real-world locales to life. While I love the room they’ve allowed for the art to breathe, some people might feel like not a whole lot happens here when you consider this is 25% of the whole story. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I figured I should review this before the reboot since no one is going to give a damn about it for a good long while. But here he’s finally been given the time and subject to produce exceptional work: I don’t think Batman and the Joker have looked this good since before the New 52 (and make no mistake, I really like Greg Capullo’s early run–even Joker with his face cut off at the beginning of Death of the Family). Later there are other instances where the train of thought is cropped in ways that makes following it a bit of a challenge at first.

So, not my favourite volume, it had some good parts, the art was good, but the story was not fantastic. If one is looking for a great Batman story, something along the lines of The Long Halloween, they will probably be disappointed. For some reason (and I'm still not sure why) this book was originally announced in 2004 but wasn't released until 2016. That right there should tell you the idea behind the plot which is a long time Bat villain pulling all the strings until the final reveal.
