We all lost our mums suddenly during the last y months and we have been such a comfort to each other.

So lately I've been really struggling with the loss of my mum, though she passed away over 5 years ago now just before I turned 15. I had Dd2 4yrs ago and my mum loved visits from her, but didn't have any idea she was her granddaughter. We can all be sitting around together and I will find myself waiting for the doorbell to ring and for her to come in. Because there's just so much shared history during the holidays, having a family member or close friend gone during this season can be particularly sad.

My mum passed away nearly three years ago (age and not cancer) and I really missed her, but you must really take care of yourself and those little ones. All I can say is that her legacy lives on in you being a great mum to your dd helped by the things she taught you and her example. Its very early but you will get past the anger,its totally normal and all part of the grieving process.

At a recent psychiatric assessment, I learned that somewhere in the grieving process I got stuck; that I still haven’t properly processed the grief. I just find it horrible watching them enjoying time with my children when my own parents and sister have passed away. This Christmas, may we all embrace the gift of our beautiful holiday memories of those who are gone.I thought I understood how much I miss you until I realized I would have to celebrate Christmas without you this year.
