Original Outbacker Stoves® | Portable Wood Burning Camping Stoves

NB: Wild Stoves recommend the use of a Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitor alarm when using the Frontier Stove in an enclosed space. Other buildings and structures such as sheds, yurts, pods and more can have our Small Space Stoves and these are simple installations but require installation to building regulations and leisure accommodation standards. It is important to install the stoves to our manufacturer’s instructions and to use a competent installer to ensure your safety. Looking for a new, efficient heating appliance for your home? If you've already got your stove and you'd like to put together everything you'll need yourself, here's what's included: With a growing range of outdoor cooking options like the Frontier Stoves, the ever popular Orland Stoves or simply a highly versatile Dutch Oven nestled straight into an open fire. There shouldn't be a Pot Noodle in sight! Originally designed for the humanitarian aid world, the Frontier Stove can be fitted in tents, yurts and used outside for adventurous outdoor cooking. The Frontier Stove is eight times more efficient than an open fire, and a safe way to cook outdoors without burning the ground. Make sure you are not overloading the stove with fuel; if there is not enough airflow in the firebox the fuel will not be able to burn efficiently and cleanly, and this can lead to smoke building up in the chamber which will billow out when you open the door.

For systems with single skin flue only, leave at least 100cm between the top of the stove and the flashing kit to ensure the life span of the flashing kit. A heat mat is a good option to protect your groundsheet; it’s made of reinforced heatproof rubberized canvas and will withstand anything hot being dropped on it when you open the door. It wraps around the bottom flue section and sits on top of our portable wood burning stove. Once the water has boiled the water heater can be turned around to hang from the bottom flue.Smoke emitting from the stove can be caused by a number of reasons; most often it’s because the flue has become clogged up. If you think this is the case, wait until the stove has cooled and pull the flue sections apart. If it looks like there’s a lot of buildup, clear it out with a wire brush or metal rod. steel legs (yes 3, so cannot wobble). All folds into a neat bundle, with a handle on the side for very easy carrying. After you get a nice fire burning evenly and have some glowing hot coals to work with you can start cooking. Place your pot or pan on the hottest spot on the cooking surface for high heat and fast cooking. The hot spot is usually in the center or directly above the largest mass of burning wood. For simmering or slow cooking, move your pot or pan to the sides or front of the stove, or spread out your coals so there is only a thin layer of fuel under your meal. The silicone collar is suitable for temperatures of up to 300 degrees, however it is still best to have this as high up in the shelter as possible, making it as far away from the stove as possible. A minimum distance of 800mm is required. Frontier Stove versus Frontier Plus
