and that same old 'grinning in the face of hell' attitude, the Man Without Fear is back in action and leading with his face.

I loved the way that Mark Waid made Matt Murdock into a more fun-loving and witty character as it had been years since we had seen a more laid back Matt Murdock and it really made reading about him more interesting and fun! However, when he starts asking for the sort of hyper-detailed information that the trope can usually supply, she flatly tells him that she's getting all her info from Google Maps. I picked this book up out of continuity and need to go back and read about when Matt was exposed as DD as this story continues after that. Matt deduces Steve's uncharacteristic anger is less about Shadowland and more about Steve projecting his guilt and anger over Bucky's trial (in Ed Brubaker's run) and death onto Daredevil. Part of the appeal of the series is that it's a departure from the Miller influenced superhero, taking Daredevil back to his swashbuckler roots. Yet, it’s not as obvious as it first seems, and the opening three chapters are an excellent statement of intent.

Waid is not only an historian of weird factoids about comic superheroes, but he's actually working hard to help us understand what life without sight must be like. Through innovative panels showing figures made up of a particular sound to illustrate how Matt “sees” them or through a kind of pop-art version of a street scene where words representing a sound or smell replace objects, they provide the reader with a unique and clever perspective on Daredevil. We will never knowingly harvest your data beyond the cookies needed for smooth running of the site, and wouldn't dream of passing it anywhere. With new enemies, new friends and a 'grinnin' in the face of hell' attitude, Mark Waid delivers an Eisner Award-winning run like no other! Para aqueles que não sabem quem foi o jovem, seu nome é Frank Miller, e até hoje é um dos quadrinistas mais respeitados deste universo.

Normally one of Marvels darkest characters, with character defining runs by Frank Miller, Ed Brubaker, Kevin Smith and Brian Michael Bendis, who all put Daredevil through the wringer, comes a surprising lighthearted run by Mark Waid. Daredevil is saving a bride of a crime family then since his identity is known to the world he has to dodge that and also help this muslim taxi driver in a case and fight Klaw and that was an awesome one!

I would like to read the story arc of when his identity got exposed leading into him dealing with the aftermath in this and the next Waid story. Daredevil is infamous as one of the grittier characters in the Marvel universe and probably the only one who can really lay a claim to that title aside from the Punisher.
