Description

Houses built up until the end of World War II are likely to feature lath and plaster non-load-bearing/dividing interior walls and ceilings. The product itself is self-adhesive, but when fused with a rapid setting substance such as Gyproc Easi-Fill 20, it leads to a reliable quick-fix solution. Once mixed (or the tub is open if you have a pre-mixed version), scoop out a lump using a small trowel and apply it to the hole, using the trowel to completely fill the area of the hole by pushing into the corners. By using the blade like this you end up with a V-shaped groove which is ideal for taking the filler.

Other useful tools may include; hand saw, trimming knife, pencil, dust mask and eye protection depending on the scope of the job. Some products may be delivered straight to your door from one of our suppliers and these products will be labelled within the product description. In the image below we have used some patching plaster but you can use any heavy duty construction adhesive such as Grip Fill or No More Nails.

The self-adhesive patches when combined with a rapid setting material like Gyproc Easi-Fill 20 provide a real quick-fix solution to what can be a time consuming and difficult way of repairing damaged plasterboard. Once marked, measure and cut the patch to the correct width and then check that it passes through the hole nicely.

The first thing to do is to cut out a rectangle around the hole using a steel rule and a Stanley knife. In this DIY how to guide we show you all you need to know about repairing a hole in a plasterboard surface such as a wall including how to enlarge the hole to create a square, how to cut a patch and fix it inside the hole using a suitable adhesive, how to use a screw to hold the patch in place while the adhesive dries and then how to complete the job by filling the hole ready for plastering over. Off Your Jobs List Forever - The reinforced metal centre prevents further wall damage, creating a strong bond with the wall to make the patching quick, easy and preventing repeat damage in the same area of the wall. GREAT VALUE - Our wall repair patches come in a great value 4 pack, so you have enough to use on different walls, or to keep handy for any unexpected damage you come across during renovations and plastering in the future. Fixing a hole in a drywall has never been easier with self-adhesive Gyproc EasiPatch Plasterboard Patches.
