There are lots of nice ties to the importance of family and caring for others and the culture of Puerto Rico. Reynolds (Opposite of Always) and Eisner award-nominated artist Pablo Leon (Refugees) create a riveting story that will connect with new and well-versed comics readers alike. My introduction to Miles Morales was the Into The Spider-Verse movie, but this graphic novel does a very good job of quickly bringing the reader up to speed on the relationship between Peter Parker Spider-Man and Miles Morales Spider-Man as well as the latter's origin and powers. Miles is so pre-occupied with balancing school and being a hero that's he's really neglecting his family life.

There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. No Brasil saíram só essas duas, mas numa pesquisa rápida no Google vi que tem outros títulos com SHuri, Garota-Esquilo, Capitão América e com os Vingadores formados nestas duas Graphic Novels. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.I admit that it wasn't till I read all the way through this that I realized it's written by a Justin Reynolds --not Jason Reynolds. The plot is different from early PP, completely relevant to 21st century teens, dealing as it does with mega-corporations manipulating people amongst other things. As the excitement mounts and danger lurks, Miles has to somehow get to the bottom of the mystery and reveal the super-villain behind it all. There wasn’t enough time for miles to improve as much as he did, and the villains didn’t get better at all.

The art warmly depicts an urban setting, using white gutters between panels in lots of different shapes, giving it a modern, fun, young feel. I was so happy to also see Ms Marvel and Squirrel Girl in the story, to remind us of how Miles and the other two are in-training at Stark Tower to get a better handle on their abilities and improve their teamwork. The story for the most part is nice and pacy, with a socially responsible theme as is typical of Marvel these days.Art was a big part of the story, as it was the fundraiser, and Pablo Leon did an amazing job imagining the art projects. He is still getting used to his Spider-Man persona and the conflicting challenges he faces seem to have him spiralling out of control. This is a reasonable length Graphic novel (128 pages) with a brief ‘Ms Marvel Stretched Thin Sneak Peek’ tacked on the end.

Main character: Miles Morales, who splits his time in the book between planning a fundraiser for his mother’s homeland of Puerto Rico which has recently had devastating earthquakes, and investigating the mysterious disappearance of his friend’s father. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. After a disastrous earthquake strikes his mother's birthplace of Puerto Rico, Miles springs into action to help set up a fundraiser for the devastated island. Miles Morales is a normal kid who happens to juggle school at Brooklyn Visions Academy while swinging through the streets of Brooklyn as Spider-Man.Also, a new classmate’s father is missing, and two criminals just got superpowers, and he’s got no ideas for an art project, so Miles is losing sleep trying to keep up with everything. Now possessed of amazing super-powers, he is also mentored by the ‘original’ Spoder-Man, Peter Parker. Art style: vibrant and engaging, clearly inspired by “Into the Spider-Verse” without being derivative. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Marvel/Scholastic) Miles Morales: Shock Waves is the first of Marvel comics’ graphic novels aimed at young readers.
